My contract with Telstra ends at the start of next month so I need to find a new mobile plan. I had a look at my options if I stay with Telstra and they're so bad, can't wait to get out of this contract.

I'm looking at a Vodafone 24-month contract and they offer 6GB of data and unlimited calls and texts for $45 a month, and I get unlimited data for the first two months. They also offer international roaming for $5 extra per day with no charge if you don't use if for a day. I'm going overseas for two weeks over Christmas so I definitely want international roaming.

Has anyone had any problems with Vodafone? I don't really care if there's some places where I can't get 4G because I'm not on my phone all the time. Can anyone suggest a better plan?
I've never had any issues with Vodafone and I've been with them for 5+ years.

Vodafone wanted $85 to unlock a phone that wasn't worth $30.

I told them to get farked, walked out of the store (and them and my contract) and bought a smart phone outright and signed up with someone else. :)

If you're willing to keep your phone, companies such as Vaya or Amaysim offer some pretty good deals on a monthly contract. A good way to compare the deals is through a website called whistleout. Though I'm not sure how they work with international roaming

Hey MEB_ as an HR person I take it you see a lot of CVs. Just wondering if there's a preferred font?
I read somewhere that Times New Roman is the best font to study with, and that's why it's the default font (not sure if true).

Yeah I dunno how this is relevant.

Has anyone ever had a taxi driver fall asleep?

I finished work at 12:30 last night and a few mates were at Crown so I decided to call a cab and head there. Taxi driver was an old guy, anyway we were driving up the Princes Hwy and were stopped at some traffic lights. The green light came on, the cars beside us both started driving, but we stayed still. I gave it a couple of seconds, looked over and realised the campaigner was asleep. I gave him a nudge, he sprung awake and floored it as cars behind us were laying on the horn.

I was a bit shaken, especially as he wasn't a great driver in the first place (not using his indicators at all, ran a red light and seemed to drive in between two lanes [but maybe that was just my perspective]).

Anyway I guess my question is, has this ever happened to someone else? Should I contact the taxi company or nah?

My reactions to this post in emoticons:

o_O:D:D:D:confused::eek:

My answer to your question: no. Definitely not.

As for contacting the company, I dunno your call really, you're safe so no harm done. The issue is he could do the same with other passengers in the car and the outcome might not be as good.

Do people usually sit in the front or back of taxis? I used to take the front. Last few times I noticed drivers just opening the back for me though. It makes it easier to avoid awkward small talk.

Nope. The only time my bed gets made is when I put clean sheets on.

You and your mrs are gypsies that live in a tent
