Let's just hope that if the Swans make another prelim and they're scheduled to play Saturday night, rugby games are being played at ANZ at the same time :drunk:

West Coast would seem to be a long way off finishing top 4 let alone playing finals.
You mixed up your words there. It should be they are a long way off playing finals, let alone finishing top four.

Does anything ever go through people's heads when they post? Jesus.

Some big games this weekend for the current top 4:
Crows vs Hawks
Tigers vs Port

North have a very winnable game against St Kilda and should put pressure on 5th. Fremantle have GWS @ home and should easily account for them and the Swans should equal their longest win streak of 12 games against Carlton.

Hawks game is massive, they can't afford to slip up, but the more I think about it, the more I think the Crows might just do them in and keep their finals hopes alive.

Will be played at the SCG. Actually the single worst year as well as the top 5-6 are all Sydney teams in the NRL I think, so both Friday and Saturday will be used for the NRL. As a Swans fan I'd love it though, you play ANZ terribly. I will LOL at Collingwood if they are forced to play at the SCG!

If we make a prelim and so manage as to be the home side the AFL are stuffed. Whether we play on Friday or Saturday. Top 6 in NRL are all Sydney based and no team from interstate looks capable of upsetting them.

which means SCG Prelim :thumbsu:

Considering we have beaten Adelaide only 2 times in 20 years in S.A. this is highly likely and wouldn't really be an upset imo.

I know Collingwood played at the SCG in 1999 but I don't know if they have played at the SCG since then.

20 years ago is meaningless, in context of a win. the only thing that influences the result is the current teams.

up until last friday THIS HAWKS TEAM losing to THIS CROWS TEAM would be considered a massive upset no matter where it's played.

after losing to north however, some might be seeing a hawks slide and so not see it that much of an upset. for mine I was simply proven wrong about north this year rather then seeing the beginning of the end of the hawks for 2014, I still see hawks losing to Adelaide as a big upset at this stage.

Adelaide beating us on Friday is not an upset. The Crows have a stronger line up on paper for this week and they are also in better form and most tipsters have gone with the Crows.
better form? you've dropped one game in off the back of 5 straight wins
over the same period they have 4 wins and two losses. if anything they are evenly matched.

on paper the crows have much more of there best on the field, but they are far from being up there. the loss of lake, hill and Cyril in recent weeks is damaging but you should get hill back this week and lake's omission isn't that important against the crows per-say. I believe he hawks should get it done even with Cyril out.

you are basically the hawks version of punts, you've been signing your teams death warrant for months now and it hasn't happened. chin up they will push through.

Adelaide are a very good side over there. They beat North Melbourne and Port Adelaide, two teams we couldn't beat this year. No Lake and no Gibson means Spangher and Schoenmakers are now the two key defenders for this game. Considering the Crows tall targets up forward, we will have our work cut out for us. As for Bradley Hill, he won't play this week.

I thought that I would prefer the top 4 to be sydney, freo, port and hawks - probably the best 4 teams so far this year and the QFs could go either way. Now I think I'd prefer to see the Hawks finish 5th so that the premise of not being able to win when outside top 4 can be properly tested.

If the hawks get most of their players back and match fit by rd 21/22, then it would be fascinating to see them try and buck the trend.

I reckon sydney and freo are still worthy favourites though.
