Socialists finished third at our booth behind Greens and Labor - helped that the candidate was wandering around the queue most of the day

Mine was essentially equal 4th since 3 of them were split by like 40 votes, only one that didn't get a look in was democrats for obvious reasons.

I love that we essentially had a 9% swing away from red, but was nowhere near the 15% required for it to matter, so, why bother voting for a centrist in 2pp westminster system, pick the party that wanted to limit pollie spending to sub 100k pa.

That I can get behind, would fund all the things anyone could ever want.

Yeah, the part that irks me is that Joffa sold up everything and moved to live in a very remote part of Fiji, most likely in order to escape his mounting problems here in Australia. Fiji (and I'm sure plenty other third world countries) always seem to get a steady stream of eccentric Westerners. Many harmless, but plenty who have deep seated issues that often eventually manifest.

Here's a video he uploaded to YT not long ago which I find mildly disturbing in light of his recent admissions.





He did return to Australia though, which is probably better for him, because Fiji justice around paedophilia issues can be harrowing and brutal and delivered well before the courts even get involved.

That's definitely true but there does seem to be very strong evidence that perpetrators of child sexual abuse are often people who were victims themselves. That's one of the most ****ed things, it starts a cycle of abuse that can carry on for generations. Doesn't make Corfe any better, we all make our own choices so he should have the book thrown at him. It should give some understanding of why it occurred but it's not an excuse for it.
