Lmao did Warner retire hurt from celebrating his 200th run?

Only saw the celebration highlight

Nah he was cooked anyway, think he was done when he hit 200 regardless.
Don't know how he stayed out there that long, I'd be dead

Looks like the MCG trustees are paying the Australian players to make sure the test goes another day.

350+ lead on the first innings against a side that can't crack 200.

2x bowlers with finger injuries to bowling hands and both sides cramping from yesterday, fair to say they all deserved an easy day against a non threatening attack.

Persist until bowled out or give them a bit about an hr before stumps, easy day 4 then incoming.

I could bowl for Australia and SA still wouldn't make 200.

Lucky they didn't end up losing Green and Starc for a much longer period by having them bat when they really didn't need to.

The midget to get an easy 40 before walking across a straight one.
Errr to nick off for maybe sub 20 just based on rather poor technique.
Elgar to have a great cry, obscure vision and coverdrive straight to fielder for 20 odd.
De Bruh to be a bro and run himself out from a stupid call. Seems to not have a great cricket brain.
Zondo seems like he has a market stall somewhere and was simply on a field trip, dunno but specialist fielder maybe?
Verry & Jesus could maybe make 80% of SA's total, and Jesus might reach the light towers to turn them on later.
Then you're into the true bowlers.

I've got an easy 3 since Zondo can't do anything but specialist field, Erwee can Cam Green it and fail dismally since his are aerial and Bavuma can nudge it around and nick off after middling like a boss. Elgar is an iffy since his mental is shot he's a bit of a bunny crumbling under pressure, but he has the skill to get out of it, same with Bavuma, but both are middling like a boss, making poor decisions and trudging off easily. SA can easily make 280-300, but on current exposed form, between the two of us we could probably clean them up for 150.

Why would they declare to early its test cricket, grind them into the ground and there is still 2 plus days left

Prolly weather related TBH, next 3 days are meant to have spots of rain here and there so you might lose 2-4 sessions due to the covers on covers off lets have early tea instances. Cummins strikes me as 110% conservative and say Anti Watson type.

I mean it was light rain with a little more on the radar but otherwise nothing massive, umps decide to put covers on and at that point, takes what 30mins? to take covers off, lets just lose the rest of the session and call stumps for the day. Great call then for Cummins to declare when he did to snag that would have been 2 wickets if Warner held the catch snippet before days end.

Instead, give them a day to get SA out then a day to maybe peg a win and take the weather aspect out of it, Cummins looks like brilliant tactician decision all because a little water fell from the sky and people went "meh" about doing anything but the default.

Covid is such a fascinating example of how people jump to "sense" in a complex situation way quicker than they should. And how the media and experts and governments say dumb shit without even thinking about the consequences of that.

"Masks are no use" then "actually masks are required".

"Covid isn't airborne" then "oh we realised covid is airborne".

"Vaccines help stop transmission" then "not really tbh".

"The vaccine is perfectly safe" then "well except for these adverse events".

"Of course it wasn't a lab leak" then "hey it could have been a lab leak".

In all those situations the right messaging up front was "we don't know yet sorry". Rather than all this false certainty. Everyone's fault for wanting the false certainty tbh.

Yep, I’m disgusted by the stupidity and placidity of society at the best of times - the last few years have been a joke.

It took away the last vestiges of my hope for humanity IMHO.
People are just too stupid, timid, apathetic or stupid to bring about the necessary change.
We'll all just ride this bus till it goes off the cliff and that will be that..

Was my thought on lockdown 1 when first response from populace was "vax does nothing on spread and I CBF wearing face covering; don't impact my autonomy, I'm pissing off cross borders".

As you say with the bus analogy, it's speeding in a nutshell, vax did and does nothing to spread hence "plz wear a mask" and people are kinda inconsiderate arseholes in public, hence "please wash yo hands", despite both things being kinda who cares right, you assume people clean themselves and have a modicum of respect to each other to not be all up in your face all the time, but apparently not. Anyway, is much like being in that car going A to B and there's that one guy in the emergency lane going "MUH IMPORTANCE!" trebling speed, coming to that ditch and jamming that tree to close both lanes.

They get to walk away to an ICU, everyone in immediate vicinity gets to shit themselves, some might follow to that ICU, the wider populace on that road gets impacted to GTFO from that region ASAP.

I dunno what it was like over your side, Murcan's have a national pride association with being an a-hole.

Over here it started with a bunch of blatantly incorrect health/transmission directives and appalling policy settings along with monumental f-ups from various government entities. I don't blame anyone on either side for their behaviors, society is a spectrum and humans will be humans at the end of the day. But I do blame the Gvt's for the actions/inactions and the consequences there of.
It all just went to show that even the most high minded individuals can devolve into the animalistic under even the slightest of pressure. Societal cohesion is a very thin vale and it was unfortunately it was lifted long enough for me to lose my remaining illusions.

People lack the education to understand complex issues

Brisbane for a week tomorrow and Perth for a week after that. Hope everyone has some holidays booked in over new years.

I do not. I have time off but no holiday

Last holiday I had was Adelaide in 2016.

Price of saving money for a mortgage I guess

You must be annoyed then, prices have gone through the roof this year. My minimum repayments have jumped up about 600 per month.

I'm sick of living with my parents.

My mother is driving me up the wall after her 3rd stroke earlier this year.

Hey all, apologies, I wasn’t sure where to post this, and it might have already been posted somewhere else. But did anyone else see an error in the membership packs that have been sent out by the club?

They have Plugger winning the Brownlow in 1980, rather than 1987. I know it’s nitpicking, but c’mon. This is going to 50k members. Surely they can afford a proofreader.

I think they are meaning to say 1980-1989. Plugger is the membership card for the 80's IIRC.
