When i saw this advertised the first time i thought yup, thats it....they've officially ran out of ideas

True story or not this surely cant be any good

Lot of people now watch slasher stuff for the LOLS. My kids cracked up watching the trailer.
Meanwhile apparently Winnie the Pooh , Blood and Honey is amongst the worst films ever made. Just lame and dumb.

My surprise effort this year was going to see "Violent Night" on Christmas eve with my kids. Was a winner.
Its been described as "Die Hard meets Home Alone"

That's what I thought too but it's actually not too bad haha

Lmao

Bring your pet to work Friday's? Paid days off to "recharge"? Is that what the job market in Australia now? Some kind of circus for bedwetters?

Why the hell did I leave? I should have stayed there and just hung out with my cat in the office all day eating M&Ms.

Regarding the ad in general, I wonder if that is a newly created position or a very recently vacated one? [emoji848]

It's good to see workplaces moving away from the 5 day working week. Nothing bed-wetter about paid days off to spend time with your family. The balance of a five day working week is all wrong.

Actually people work harder if they have a better work-life balance.

I was more laughing at the actual job on offer, given recent events.

Absolutely Agree - subject to “ I don’t want to get any emails on Friday as it can upset my weekend” - what a load of rubbish - no business can survive or grow when people think like this!

Yeah, once AI and off-shoring get rid of jobs, making people work 5 days full time is going to be pointless. Most jobs left will have to be quite specialised or service types roles. Someone is going to have to come up with way to pay a universal basic wage. Getting the corporations to pay the taxes to fund it is the only real problem.

Lmao

Given we know the boss of Seek did we get a free advert?

As one in service based, they offloaded some on international teams, all that did on my end as a tech guy was "I now get to answer the same question 40 more times from people who are ESL" and it just increased workload.

These days, I categorise "have I answered this before" and have hot links to just copy paste responses as if you're going to say to note it down, then note it down and reference it otherwise IDGAF. I'd love to have Mondays off, as everyone has time over the weekends so that's when you get Joe from Boronia being 'I spent 4k on a nailer and accidentally nailed my cat to my car, how do I solve world hunger?" type questions and you just die a little inside.

If AI can answer those for me, I am happy.

I have two mates that are in internet security one works remote for Google and one was working for Meta who have just off loaded him after head hunting him during Covid. Gets a year payout but has moved to be closer to them including buying a property in NYC. Now wants to head home and find something here but the locals are offloading too.

Google is cutting the other guy's team and just randomly plucking names out to sack. He can't even choose himself and lots are 10 plus year workers. He think he'll be okay but not even 100% sure.

Big Tech is going through a brutal shake up and I suspect that a lot of it is that the humans have created the platform to make themselves redundant.

Interested. What’s the salary like? For a 7 day a week availability better be defent
job description is interesting...

"must find new ways to embarrass the club to outside stakeholders such as members, fans and media."

I'm in Big Tech, the days of startups seeking multi-million dollar cash injections are gone. Everything now needs to be done on the smell of an oily rag. No data is safe, post anything online and assume it could be stolen. Another financial institution just lost all its data, add that to Medibank... you cant trust any platform. They are all just one mistake away from losing all your data.
