There seems to be a bit of a theme in US politics. Reagan, Bush Jnr and Biden all showing signs of cognitive decline and it not seeming to put them out of the race. Bush was probably coke related more than age.

Reagan was totally gone the way Biden is, his wife had to stand next to him in press conferences to prompt him with pre-rehearsed answers when he forgot them, and he told the Prime Minister of Israel he was there for the liberation of concentration camps as a photographer during WW2 when what he was actually remembering was a movie he acted in.

Bush Jr seems pretty compos-mentis to me still though, he was just a ****ing idiot.

Bush certainly wasn't trying to make any sort of point. He just got confused for a moment and then played the comparison for a joke to the laughs of everyone in the room with zero self-awareness.

None of them make any points for me, it's all about how much smoke can they blow up arses to get monies to say "lookit moi" and not the other peoples. They are the gift that make the Westminster system look semi competent in design.

I'm not sure where any of that comes from. He was mates and neighbours with Epstein and one of his advisers just went down for trafficking kids. For capitalism to remain there needs to be degrees of distribution of wealth, if it gets too far revolutions happen, and also there needs to be acceptance that some things must be out of capitalistic system (infastcutre, water, education, police, defence, pretty much anything that is needed for people or things done for the nation/society)

As neoliberalism destroyed the post-war consensus, its time for new ideas to destroy neoliberalism.
