You'll find it's the stain the hippie movement attached to it along with fear of Chernobyl, which was an isolated case of neglect only the USSR could have engineered.

I just saw this on Twitter, looks like cost is still the biggest impediment. Unless there is a massive technological breakthrough it doesn't look like it will ever get up.

Yep co-created and voiced by Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel (aka Psychicpebbles).

You'll probably know Zach from this animation he did:

This nation has a lot of Sun, Wind and Waves.

Renewables should have been something that we must be world leaders, there is a boom coming, its either get bank or be bitches.

I want bank not my nation to be a b*tch.
Obviously this place has lot less people and a lot more sun and wind and tidal power than we have but its pretty cool that they need to invent new ways to use up the energy they're generating.

The dream would be Australia just having so much surplus of every type of renewable that we have multiple contingencies if say the wind's quiet one day or the clouds are out.

Yeah unfortunately there are many days a year in most areas of Aus which would be low renewables generation days. Either we have blackouts on those days or we build a shitload of storage (and hope not too many of those days happen in a row) or we use gas plants to cover the gaps.

Far out Rubin Colwill from Cardiff City has a bit of the Cooper Sharman's about him.

Dear Mods.

I think it would be appropriate to discuss the AFL and club's management of Covid19 in an appropriate thread.
It would not need to delve into politics, vaccination, human rights and alternative treatments. Rather , it would be how the AFL and clubs deal with the rules and restrictions rightly or wrongly imposed upon them.

AFL are proposing rules and contingencies for potential badly affected clubs.
It may also be interesting to discuss which clubs/players have already had it ( and be unlikely to be affected ) compared to those like the WA clubs who are isolated.

Create a 'General AFL Discussion' thread for 2022 and do it there.

My grandfather once told me that the original meaning for the "vice", as in "vice captain" in the VFL in the 1920's and 30's meant that
the "vice" captain was the guy who would organise the booze, drugs and girls after a win. The deputy "vice" captain would give him a hand.
The "vice" captain would also be the go-between with bookies for the team to now and then throw a game, depending on the odds.
This helped with the end of season trip to Rosebud. (or Mornington)

Considering these politically woke days shouldn't 'vice' captain be changed to 'nice' captain? Can't have the zoomers being confronted by a word that relates to anything pre the turn of the century. ;)

Surely Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson didn't have to organise his own piss and harlots after he smashed Napolean.
( i reckon your grandfather was telling tall ones ).

The title Captain implies military type titles, and may give distressing thoughts of war.
The Captain of the club should now be changed to the Club Caring Mentor with sugar on top.

Maybe cut it down to just "Mentor" ? Or is that the "Coach" ? I have it - "Captain" to be replaced by "Chaplin" (non-denominal).

Sugar offends me and it could be implied you are fat shaming (even though fatties should be shamed - don't tell anyone I said that, I don't want to be cancelled)

Can't they all be equal and get participation certificates? This competition and toxic masculinity of wanting to win, is confronting and not inclusive. There is no empathy to the players on the other team whom you want to belittle by beating them. Shame.
