We still have a rooted economy, a ****ed up housing market, mass underemployment, rising cost of living, lack of good internet speeds, climate change, increased courrtpion, we will have to deal with the decline of the American empire, the rise of the Chinese empire and Companies evading taxes like crazy.

I consider those issues to be much more pertinent to the zeitgeist over some seppo issues, We are not American we got our own problems to deal with.

We still have a rooted economy, a f’ed up housing market, mass underemployment, rising cost of living, lack of good internet speeds, climate change, increased courrtpion, we will have to deal with the decline of the American empire, the rise of the Chinese empire and Companies evading taxes like crazy.

I consider those issues to be much more pertinent to the zeitgeist over some seppo issues, We are not American we got our own problems to deal with.

And none of those are congruent with the 'seppo issues'?

It's ironic now I've made the distinction between classic Simpsons and "new" Simpsons, but those "new" episodes are now 20 years old.

It's pretty amazing the show has been terrible for twice as long as it was excellent.

The sad part about Fox punching down is that they actually found somebody lower than them on the food chain to punch.
At least they're not pretending to be news anymore.

Believe it or not, they didn't pick that person deliberately. They asked for a Moderator of the subreddit, and they are the ones that put themselves in the position to talk to Fox. It's pretty clear the host of the show took it very easy on them when he realised what he was dealing with. It could have been so much worse if he wanted.

It was temporarily closed down by the Moderator who went on Fox News, they couldn't handle the pressure. They stepped down as mod, and the ones who were left reopened it.

Yeah haha I've read a bit about it, strange situation from the start. I don't know if it's something that could be taken seriously on its own merit but I think they'll really struggle to be taken seriously after this.

Exactly why the 'ideas' should be in the public sphere and not restricted to the insular sphere of university programs.

People have been suggesting that humans will work less and have more leisure time since the 1950s due to technology advancing. Bizarrely we work more than we did then and get to slave away for a lifetime to buy our insanely expensive housing that will probably be worth less in the future as populations drop...well or climate change shits on everything anyway. Basically you go mad if you're not occupied so you might as well believe that you have some purpose. The vacuous live in a state of joy while anyone who thinks beyond the surface is doomed to melancholia. And that is why football arguments are better than real life things.
