Someone could do a thesis on the psychological reasons why saints fans are drawn to watching the 09 and 10 grand finals. We know the heartbreak that comes. Yet we always go back

I’ve never watched more than about 30 seconds of any past Saints grand final, can’t bring myself to see it all happen again.

#### me we lead at every change
About to smash the TV FML
I watched the replay of '97 a couple years ago. That took me 12 years to finally stomach. Not sure I can do 2009 yet, fair effort.

Having one of the worst days does anyone have anything saints related to lighten the spirits? Favourite highlights of a game?
Round 22, 2001 v Hawthorn
Round 10, 2004 v Carlton
1997 Prelim

Just a few, and all in the Saints vault stuck at the top of the board. Hope you're doing well mate

Hope it gets better mate.

This is only short, and may have been posted elsewhere, but it gave me a chuckle :)

Can't wait to hear the whingeing and whining from the Libs supporters when Jim Chalmers introduces the tax changes to super.

Getting a tax break when you've got millions in super is a joke. If I was Jim I'd be introducing a "death tax" on super as well.

The tax concession is to assist YOU live comfortably in retirement, not to give your kids a govt funded leg up.

I agree there needs to be changes to the super system to stop it becoming a way to bank money for the wealthy. But I'll be ****ed if they start an inheritance tax. My half arsed attitude toward super is going to be an absolute **** up if they do that.

Plenty of other tax loopholes to close up first.

Nah not an inheritance tax - just taxing any left over super before it goes to your kids.

They've done a lot in 80 years.

The more they get the less they need to ask for and why penalise the families of successful people. It’s just crazy to have a death tax.

Disagree, the families of successful people have already had enough help by the time their parents kick the bucket.

But overall there's no point having a death tax - anyone wealthy enough finds it easy to get around so it only really affects people without much money to give anyway. More effort to administrate than it actually makes.

You misunderstand - it wouldn't be a death/inheritance tax.

The govt gives you an incentive to put money into super by reducing your tax on contributions to 15% when you would have paid say 45% if you had just kept it.

What I am saying is that the taxation concession the govt gives you to help with your retirement should be repaid to govt on the your death. Any extra money in your super can then go tax free to your kids just like it does now.

But now that you mention it - we should have death taxes as well.
