I find it hilarious that people see this situation as being so straightforward. "Ukraine good, Russia bad." As if anything buried in hundreds of years of history is just going to be some simple good/bad dichotomy.

People really have to have an opinion on everything so they pick a side and then stick to it, no tolerance for grey areas or complexities.

Its never seemed that straightforward to me and i dont think too many others see it that way either.

The reality for most (and i include myself) is we have very little idea of the history and disputed borders but Russia seem to be the aggresor and took the first overt military action, hard to really argue for them at that point.

I also assume basically all of Eastern Europe is pretty sketchy.
