I thought it was a Hindu symbol. We see a bit of it in Fiji deployed in it's original context.

It is and it goes through into some forms of Buddhism as well. Like Muslims, Jews and Christians follow the same god, Buddhism came out of Hinduism. The Swastika should be in reverse though I think.
