LOL can't beat that, you are on fire lately

Yep seen it a couple times, wish we had players with that mentality
He changed the organisation turned an ordinary club into a great club with his will to win and be the best

Yep absolutely ruthless, probably pissed a lot of people off along the way but look what he has to show for it.

'Air' is another good one about Jordan if you're keen on it. More about the stuff off the court but I really enjoyed it. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Tucker, Viola Davis

I watch a stack of sports docos, just churn through the 30 for 30s pretty consistently. Last Dance is the Citizen Kane of them. Incredible insight and story telling that really doesn’t pull many punches about Jordan and the type of athlete and person he is.

To me it’s absolutely must watch for any sports fan. My wife who can’t stand sport was even enthralled

Air is a solid little film and good cultural touchpoint (imagine a world where Jordan signs with Adidas… completely differently sports and lifestyle landscape to now).

Yeah my wife never watched a minute of basketball in her life, she loved the last dance

I ****ing despise golf. I watched the Daly 30 for 30 and the tiger one, if it’s an hour or so I can do it but full swing is a series yeh? Too much for me.

Show me the money (the afl player agent one) which has been done twice now is interesting, mostly cause it makes that industry look completely ****ing unprofessional and mostly made up or moron ex footballers.

In no particular order
  • Icarus
  • generation iron
  • the last dance
  • free solo
  • next goal wins
  • no no
  • hoop dreams
  • Tyson 42-1
  • when we were kings
  • the nature boy
  • run Ricky run
  • playing for the mob

Honorable mention to athlete A which is kind of a sport documentary.

I also didn’t include any of the Lance docos cause it’s really tired and Icarus does a way better job of explaining drugs in sport. Also drive to survive but it’s a series and everyone knows it

I also just finished the two parter on American gladiators which is pretty slow and not particularly well produced but a truly fascinating story that I certainly knew nothing about (the tv show was born out of iron mill worker contests in Michigan and the guy who had the original idea sold his “life rights” to the guy in the doco so he’s not even allowed to be interviewed it’s absolutely insane)

You left out Happy Gilmore

He was the man, an incredible player in a great period Imo. A period when things that would get you ejected today didn’t even get called a foul. You have to give some credit to the organisation as well, look at the players around him they certainly added the right pieces.

The flu game is my all-time favourite

Agassis book is pretty amazing. Very open, very raw.

I also think both of Lances books (pre being busted) are fascinating as well, mostly as works of total fiction and a view into the mindset and how the lie grew and grew.
