One of the Facebook guys I used to go to school with was selling an old Dobro, I think 1920s. His old man was in Masters Apprentices and it was his. He had it at a music shop for sale in Melbourne somewhere about a month ago. It was a pretty reasonably priced from memory. Well seemed it for such an old one with a history.

Still loving it. I'm eyeing off a strat now. I have to find a way to sneak it in the house without being noticed. I used to own a Strat years ago and I think I liked it more to play than the Gibson. Maybe I'm just not very good any more and it's blaming the guitar.

I have a mate who's a CFO in a listed company and he does it. Pretty sure it's a nervous thing from when he was young. When he's with his mates he seems like a dopey chuckling clown but I've heard him get up and do a speech at his work and he goes full on business. It's like two different people.

It's pretty normal in Australia. It's common among my country relos, I think it's a way to disarm people and show them that you're not a cocky arseh*le. In the country the w***ers cop it.

They're not confident in their own skin.

At school pick up the conversations blew my ever-lovin' mind.

Just buckets of surface drivel with a smattering of giggles.

People get uncomfortable when you try to have a real conversation with them.
