They'd be right. The US and others have displaced most of the people that end up needing somewhere to go. When they helped free Syria they managed to kill and displace millions and destroy some of the world's most important cultural treasures. Real Team America World Police stuff. Did it with Gaddafi too, he was a socialist that distributed money and had free health and education and to liberate the people of that burden the US smashed the country into the ground so that they could have democracy. Vietnam, Yeman, heaps of South and Central America. The gulf states, Afghanistan they have helped them all.

My view is that we demolish the entire political system and start anew but in the meantime you vote for the lesser of two evils, for me that's Trump by a country mile and then some. 2024 version of a Democrat is a legitimate threat to global security.

Do you really worry that the money is being siphoned into the Clinton, Obama and Biden accounts? If they’re taking a cut it’s pocket change.

Trump is probably the most successful President at making sure he gets his fair share with his $2 billion dollar grift from the Saudis. And good luck to him. If not him, someone else would have got it, and Trumps wealth is probably at the lesser end of the destructive scale.

There’s another layer behind the political class that is at the heart of everything that is wrong with American politics.

Right now American voters just get to decide whose turn it is to drink from the fire hose.

And unfortunately that political setup is starting to permeate into Australian politics.

I watched a video a while back on how policans take lobby money funnel into overseas countries, comes back as support for the candidates and washes the money clean for them. They are all sucking on the tit over there.

Yeah, the lobbyists have got hold of most countries now. Can't see how it ever gets cleaned up. In the US they say out loud that they'll pay to run candidates against anyone they don't want to hear. It's so ingrained that it's normalised.

Even the parties have warped so far from what they used to be. I'm actually a Democrat at heart, but the current day version are not that anymore and somehow the Republicans have turned themselves into new age Dems IMO. Ultimately there's things that the Republicans do that I disagree with but for me the security of our nation is more important in 2024 and nobody handles those threats better than Trump.

Anyway I can obviously sense how devoid people are of any hope. If the Democrats lose office this year I think it's got more to do with the current state of affairs than anything driven by unpopular policies, although that obviously does factor in somewhat I think this shows how disconnected the average person is to how the system operates for them.

People these days have grown up on the internet, they can find information within seconds and I think most have taken a peek behind the curtain and seen the political system for what it is, a tool to make rich and powerful people richer and more powerful. Most of the time the average person's interests are not met and I think you see the result of that in the circus act that is an election. Nobody can hold a seat. In one minute and out the next.

To me the President of the United States (or any country really) should hold themselves to a certain standard. Ultimate professional. Revered. These days it's become a shouting match to see who can have the most viral moments or who can meme the other the best. It's honestly a joke, but we (the average person) allow it too. So pathetic all round.
