China basically think its their own bit of ocean because it says China in it. Never mind that its 50m off Vietnam's beach and the entire length of Vietnam away from China.
They even found an ancient piece of parchment that says something vague about it belonging to China , which they claim legitimises everything, but doesn't really.

Well, I think us Australian’s should be so proud of being able to help China militarily rebuild anyway. Thanks to our record bauxite and coal exports to China, China can make the steel for those ships and tanks.

Our stock port-folios, our superannuation, our index funds, are all helping float the good ship as she steams inexorably on.

But i can't agree with the bit about the South China Sea.
Republic of China have territorial disputes with 5 different countries as well as Taiwan ( Peoples Republic of China is nowhere near as chummy with the Republic of China ,as Jeffrey makes out ).

China have objected to and confronted an Indian Military Vessel on a friendly visit to Vietnam.
China have put an Oil Rig in Vietnamese waters.
There are lots of disputes from all parties regarding fishing rights, and the Chinese seem to like causing an issue if anyone takes a foreign military vessel anywhere near the place , but i have not heard of anyone preventing the travel of, or even objecting to Commercial Freight Ships. To say they are protecting their shipping lines is total crap.

So, this morning, I couldn't sleep as yay health things so watched the F1 and ended up basically napping for maybe an hour towards the end of it? I say this because as I essentially woke up at like just past 5am, berating myself for not having a good nights rest and pinching the bridge of my nose to breathe properly, I looked out the window cause there was a thud and I'm not 100% of what it was that hit it.

It was grey, fur or feather, I dunno if it fell, jumped or otherwise onto the broken ducted heater near said window, I did not hear it flap away or otherwise leave afterwards to make me think fur as we have rando roaming cats. Anyway, after the bang to be "WTF was that" I saw what looked like small legs shimmy a little on ground level and then disappear out of view.

Walked to the other room as hey I was awake and grumpy so if it was something I could punch, I would, and all I know is nothing walked past, nothing scaled the fence line that direction (walk out as opposed to jumping fences). I just dunno what animal it was is all.

Like a bird wouldn't have hit it unless it dropped straight down as house-unit-fence-neighbour planter boxes-their house. There's just not an angle to strike it otherwise. This made me think cat, however majority of cats in the area are "shades of brown" and this was straight light grey as it was dawn, so sunrise and quite bright with lush green background.

Then I thought maybe a possum? I just dunno as most of those I saw were more "pizza joint with open door, lets hang in this tree as many scraps to be found..." in town. Anyone got any other ideas?

Nah, small pine tree reserve with creek system running through it, it's council maintained. So say random white ibis, everything else is "normal" bird life, ie magpie, sparrow, crow, cockatoo, galah, corella, seen a couple lorikeets & rosella's, kookaburra of course as we do have a population of snakes and such to consider since yeah bugs, frogs and such with that creek system.

This is why I went the possum aspect since I have seen possum, have seen kookaburra (they like my fig tree) the lorikeets and rosellas seemed more a "oospie" as they were really only pairs, not in any quantity like the galah, cockatoo and such which wake me up at like 5am, and when in season raid TF outta my fruit trees.

We do have say a "reserve" of kangaroo between the airfield and town, so full wetlands to the north of the town so you know sometimes things come down from there also, who knows.

And I have been watching the you know "top 5 creepy things" where randomly you'll have someone be all "...and this blob is bigfoot!!11" type commentator whilst I work. So who knows, maybe Yowie came to see if he could find his fam?

Possum. We have families of the effing pests. Neighbour keeps trapping them but they are quickly replaced.

My dogs love the possums it’s their nightly entertainment. We have loads of them around here mostly ringtail with the occasional brush tail.

The dogs know exactly where they like to get in the trees and wait at the back doors to be let out. They charge out and run to their different points to check then charge around in a coordinated pattern checking until they find one to bark at. If they don’t then they take up station at different points to keep watch.

They never get them of course and the possums couldn’t care less, it’s just pretty funny. I let them out a few times before I go to bed but I’m conscious of their barking so make sure I round them up fairly quickly.

Nearly all because the US threaten the South China Sea trade route. Anyone that can't see that the US is the most aggressive force in the world and responsible for more regime changes, war and suffering than any of the "bad guys" isn't looking.

That’s simply not true on any level. The US threatening the South China Sea trade route, rubbish. It’s the US making sure we all have free passage in international waters. The US has a reduced presence in the region since the closure of Clark field and the greatly reduced operations out of subic bay.

I had once a night, bang on the meter box. Every bloody night, and i'd rush out and not see anything.
Finally saw a possum running away from the scene one night.

So based on it likely being a possum and the general feedback, I'm going to assume (since no scurrying, pitter patter or etc to denote it was here previously);

• Possum came from pine area.
• Possum travelled to a random location in the area (not mine)
• Possum went tree to roof from ground level (Fig tree does enable access to carport roof for climbing critters)
• Possum failed a jump from roof to fence to then transfer to neighbours roof (lower elevation to mine)
• Possum was stunned a bit (hence the bang, see legs shaking a little)
• Given the maybe minute to transfer to other window (to see if land based), possum had already absconded back to pine area.

Thus successful investigation, and possum is now donned Jumping Jack Splat henceforth.

The situation is tense because we have signed on to a horrendous AUKUS deal that is tying us to the US and their aggressive pacific agenda. I never said they were a good corporate citizen, they just have a less military driven model. The US get rich off arms so want perpetual wars. China will sign you on to a permanent debt cycle but won't bomb you.The World Bank does the same thing to poor countries so it's not like they are the bad guys stepping out into rare territory.

They are all about making money and trading. They want to sell the world their manufactured goods. Killing lots of people is bad for business.

Of course we get cyber attacks. Israel, the US, Russia even countries like Iran do it. It's what countries do to each other. We don't do it back because the US do a lot of our dirty business for us. Pine Gap isn't a kiosk.

If the west wasn't constantly threatening their access to shipping lanes and pushing flash points they wouldn't get aggressive back.

The US have threatened it multiple times. Not saying they will but saying that that’s how they’d take them out and doing naval training drills with multiple countries to show what it would look like. The US has surrounded them with bases too.

Unfortunately, it actually appears that she was shot by the person with whom she invaded the premises.....as was the man whose premises they invaded. It is believed they were all known to each other, so it is not a case of her being an unfortunate bystander. However, that is of little comfort to her parents as they grieve the loss of their daughter just a few weeks before Christmas, before she even reached 20 years old.....
