Brisbane is good fun and they do sport well over there too, went to Wallabies-All Blacks back in 2017ish and they closed off the street leading down to Suncorp. Pubs and bars everywhere, was a festival atmosphere.

Work has allowed me to travel to Sydney a lot, and got mates in Brisbane so try and head up there once a year.

I like WA most out of all of them though, quieter which I like and the weather is perfect, beaches are beautiful too. Have a mate over there who moved from Melbourne 15 years ago and said it's impossible for him to see himself coming back. Outside of Melbourne I'd live over in Perth.

Caxton St before a Bledisloe Cup goes off! One of my favourite sporting experiences and Suncorp is a great Stadium to watch rugby.

I read it with enough detail, nothing in it to think that it was a huge issue of major importance. Just looks like another modern news story to horrify people into a moral panic. No different to getting r*ped by trans people in a shared bathroom. The chances of it happening to someone would have to be so infinitesimal that it would hardly register a stat.

Those same lesbians worried about being pressured into dating trans people should probably worry about a trillion other much more pressing issues that would effect them with much more frequency and higher danger levels. It's like the Satanic Panic of the 80s. Older people freaking out that heavy metal would turn kids into satanists so parents sent kids off to church programming camps for listening to Motley Crue or Poison.

It's interesting that so many people get so upset by something that they probably never come across in their day to day life. I doubt many trans people have great lives. You would get heaps of prejudice and scorn. If you read these kind of stories you'd think that an army of trans activists are coming to assault you when ever you leave the house. The world is potentially on the verge of a serious war and we focus on a few militant trans that want to be called women on a few internet forums.

You have to keep some proportionality in these things. You can do what you want but to me of all the things to put my energy into this doesn't seem to be a cause worth bothering with. Looks very much a massive over reaction.

The Scandinavian stuff on rape doesn't seem to be as big an issue as they make it to be either. The immigrant stuff is causing social issues but the rape numbers are similar to here. Those northern Euro countries opened their doors to large numbers of immigrants that have come in and caused some serious fractures and with a rise in the neo nazi movement at the same time it's not good. That doesn't mean that their political model of social democracy isn't a good model.

JK Rowling has been happy to fight on the issue and won't concede ground. Pretty funny that the christians hated her and banned Harry Potter but hold her up as a model of morality now.

The kids stuff is not extreme as it looks either, I've read a bit about it and know someone who worked with them. Do you really think parents are willingly changing their children's gender for no reason. Laidley has held down something through his life until it broke out. Repression isn't great either.

There was some place in England that sounds like there was some concerning policies but that doesn't mean you have to scrap the whole concept. That doesn't have anything to do with lesbians though.

There is plenty of interesting stuff where intersex kids have a gender assigned early and get into adulthood and freak out because the parents assigned one that they don't relate to. It's a complicated issue and I doubt anyone is putting their kids into a really difficult situation without reason. My wife is a psych and I follow some of the stuff and there is some interesting stats around autism and gender dysmorphia and those things need to be taken into account but no-one is doing this stuff frivolously.

I haven't seen any convincing data on that but it sounds unlikely. The only articles I could find look like it might be bullshit based on a women's group with a very tenuous example based on the 70 incarcerated trans people in Britain.

Priests, scout masters and school teachers are over represented I imagine. Doesn't mean that teachers and religious people are all pedos but the ones in jail probably are.

My family all support Middlesbrough as they're all from the area and Alan had 200 appearances for them before moving to Leeds in 1964. He was good mates Bobby's brother Jack. I really should ask what memorabilia we have lying around. Never bothered to check other than the photos we have.

Unreal if it's Moore, that stuff is almost priceless now. I've got a few signed Middlesbrough things lying around that I've held onto but I think most of the stuff is still over in England with family. Either way I have to check it out
