Shergold has a schtick that is borderline offensive towards a lot of things. You don't actually feel like he means 90% of what he says, he straddles the controversial. The endometriosis should be taken as offensive because it is like joking about any illness. More likely to get people pissed off that make them laugh.

Honestly, anyone that listened to his show would think that it's stupid ranting of a guy playing the dickhead. Comedy can look really bad when you isolate small parts. When taken out and amplified and commented on it can become a pile on. I probably prefer people to vote with their wallet and stop supporting things that upset them than go on a witch hunt.

I feel that if Roy and HG were taking the piss out of the Matilda;s they would nail it.

But they are some Aussie comedy GOAT's.

I feel if you want to be a "controversial" radio host then treat yourself like a pro wrestling heel, get booed but do not go for cheap jokes or gags cause that shit will wear thin, you will have to go lower and lower to get cheaper and cheaper and before you know it you say some dumb shit and get the arse.

I find that troubling. You don't like someone you'd never heard of because of the way he's been portrayed in one media story. I'm progressive and a left leaning centrist but hate the pile on trial by media. His career is probably over but all of a sudden he's an unemployed person with no-one willing to touch him.

What if he goes and tops himself out of shame and confusion? It's a human being with a life and people. He's made a grave error but shouldn't get removed from public life because of it. Let him regain his reputation.

Best reply I've read so far. We don't have people seemingly getting outraged and crying in the media over old people being terrorised in their homes in the middle of the night by machete wielding teens out on bail who then proceed to drove the car they've stolen down the wrong side of a public road at double the speed limit........but a radio jock makes a bad joke and says something mean about female athletes and the silent mob want to build a gallows.......great priorities......

About 5 AFLW Bulldogs games last season because my niece plays for them. Otherwise it would be zero.

Can't remember ever going to a womens sports event. Maybe the AO 30 years ago the one and only time I went to the tennis, but I hate all tennis not just womens.

I used to go to the Hockey, my mum would leave me and my brothers on the sideline while she went off and they all bashed each other with sticks ( omg they had bruises ), me and my brothers woule bugger off and follow the tracks around the creek surrounding the ground.

Also for Womens sports Ice Hockey is the one of the best.

It's just as hard as mens, but also slower you can you keep up with the puck (especially when watching on a phone in 720p)

And their legs are hella sexy.

I like women's tennis and basketball and get behind the Mathildas in a WC, don't really dig the women's domestic league but I recognise that it's not for me.

I casually watch the odd Saints AFLW game but not really interested in committing to another sports side. It's definitely getting a better standard and might get to be a very good league one day. Again it's for women to experience the sport for themselves. It's not for me to give judge either way.

There's still room for jokes about illness. Cancer and suicide which has no doubt touched us all, it certainly has me, form the core of some hilarious jokes.
People's inability to separate themselves from jokes, stories, anecdotes etc these days is quite alarming (and pathetic).

Sometimes the pointing out the stupidity of a point of view stops people to think for a minute. I'm not a big fan of limiting the arts even if it's offensive at times. Let the court of public opinion judge their output.

I used to be a lot more into hiding people who had dangerous ideas, but people like Musk have started limiting people's voices and when the light shines back the other way I don't like it. I guess I have to address the hypocrisy.

Yeah pretty much agree. But I would say that these kind of comments would fall into the last catagory you mentioned.

They're the type of comments if you were to say them amoung mates its probably fine if you know your audiance but we don't really want to encourage that stuff on public radio.
