In other news, picked up a package that contained my 9CD set of music from Playasia, went to chuck it in my stereo only to find that the CD player won't open, disc in there already going by transition. Googled the brand and from what I could see the words "plastic piece of crap" were stated.

Akai M53 for those wondering, though mine doesn't look like the images you'll find 100%.

Yep, it really drives home that some serious and dangerous stuff was, and probably still is, happening, way beyond just old Cold War smears. Which I think is the point you are making.

The attack was traced back to agents connected to the Russian government, and a British inquiry even found it was likely approved right at the top, including by Putin himself.

Do you know how many regime changes, political assassinations and deaths can be attributed to the US. We still hear about the bad guys while supporting one of the most destructive and brutal empires in history.

Trump is a Russian asset for ****'s sake. And I guess you believe Trump when he said that Ukraine started the war.

Trump is probably a Russian asset but still the US and NATO provoked the Ukraine invasion and lead a regime change to bring in Zelensky. There are no good guys and bad guys.

Trump pretty clearly a Jewish asset. Who isn’t in that world.

He is obviously sponsored by ultra zionists but there looks like some pretty credible links to the Russian mob as well. Most of them are pretty connected to the top of government there. If you've got money, the Don doesn't seem discriminatory.

Yeah agreed, the US definitely has a long, messy history of regime changes, coups, and questionable foreign policy (think Chile, Iraq, Vietnam, and so on). But that doesn’t make what Russia’s doing today any less dangerous.

Calling out America’s hypocrisy doesn’t mean Putin’s Russia gets a free pass. It just means we shouldn’t go around treating any global power like they’re some kind of saint.

And since we’re strategically aligned with the US, Russia’s hostility toward the West is directly relevant to us too.

Watch that video I put up by Jeffrey Sachs. He's not a nobody, he's as well credentialed as you'll get. Meershiemer has some good videos too. Both professors at Ivy League schools. Sachs has held positions at the top of government and international political organisations.

Sachs talks about how the US started the wheels in motion for the conflict while Clinton was still in power. There is a video circulating with a general talking about how the US had a plan to take down most of the countries in the Middle East. Iran the only one left.

Geopolitics is fascinating but brutal. How many countries has China destroyed for their corporations to strip of assets? If you believe the MSM they are evil but the evidence isn't there.

A lot interlinks too. For Israel to take out Syria, Russia, their main ally had to be occupied, same with a potential attack on Iran. While Russia is bleeding at home they don't have capacity to help allies out. The US and Israel work together in the ME.

I'll go back and look for the video and the Mearsheimer stuff too when I have time, it sounds interesting.

I'm of the opinion that, in the long run, there are no good guys.

And while I've been critical of Russia, the US has been equally bad, or worse, global citizens, given their far-reaching influence and tendency to impose themselves.

This guy is good if you want 2 minute videos summing up how shit our western governments have behaved. We are wealthy because we are brutal

China uses a different model to expand their empire. They’re happy to play on civil terms and win through hard work and strategy. Well so far anyway.

In the past Asia has tended to go back to trying to isolate themselves from the west because if we were a footballer we’d king hit opponents behind the play.

What utter rubbish. unfortunate that you are gullible enough to believe that rubbish.

I'd say that you are the gullible one. I read a lot on geopolitics and follow a lot of experts in the field. If you just accept the mainstream media view of it you are the one getting fooled by propaganda.

Happy for you to find me some solid evidence that proves a contrary POV.

haha yep , go the typing error. I'd suggest adding something to support your argument maybe required, not much credence can be put into your compelling argument.

Just on a point;

Ukraine joined a NATO lead instance in 1994, and there was a commission in 1997 that got reaffirmed in 2002. Why do we care about 6 years later for them as a start point for friction re NATO? Why disregard the decade prior?

Then on Georgia, Georgia held a non binding referendum in which a vast majority, most say 77% of the populace went "NATO, yes please". And whilst granted this was in 2008, this was Georgia, the country, holding an internal referendum, it wasn't NATO going "oi bitch, join us or I give you a wedgie and hand you over to Russia" to force hands.

The thing that's generally missing from all these experts is actually Gorbachev, none of them mention him, none of them even cite he was there, they all use Yeltsin like Sachs does when he was the fake peace guy that stated "I want peace, I am the king of peace" as he murdered thousands. You know why no one mentions Gorbachev? Cause he flips between towing the line and going against the line where it was only spoken, nothing confirmed to it was totally confirmed and those other people are dirty bastards.

It's part of why no one trusts Russia, they have NFI what stance they wish to take and all roads lead to death.

So like you, I follow geopolitics, my ancestory is actually Italian/Austrian on one side and actual convict on the other, so you know we've checked and confirmed some things from eastern, southern and central Europe from 2 gens back all the way to England and the 1st fleet.

TLDR: Monarchy Russia - 'ok cousin, calm down, we're family".
Some fracas, but mostly resolved through words at the end instead of just millions dead from war.

Russia since - "I'm soviet now, you're not or against me, I need to kill you now".

Then we jump to the fall of the Berlin wall and reunification in the 1990's, so almost a century later from said Monarchy days and that revolution in WW1 and Russia is suddenly a republic and has presidents and is so totally democratic now and the west is bad dontcha know...

We can have mutually inclusive things where Russia can be a bastard along with the USA and other regions right?

As an aside, the Russian people are more than acceptable, I'm almost certain if you nuked Moscow to rubble, Novosirbirsk would go "OH NO--anyway...." and move on with life.
