No wonder he has got a bit cranky from time to time. Painful thing if your hip is in trouble. Recovery is pretty good. My Mrs had one a few years ago. Changed her life.

Workmate of mine in the UK has already had a hip replacement in his 40's. Ex UK Marine and jumping out of choppers and shit laden down with gear means he'll have his other one done before he's 50!
Instead of staying home and watching the prelim tonight, I'll be out watching an 80 something George Clinton hobble around with the current incarnation of Funkadelic

I had a grand total of 40 minutes there. No time for any lounge. Was off QF37 walked to the gate for QF1 and waited 20 minutes before boarding.
I have a new game. I like to tell people they look like a really unattractive famous person.... but I say it like it's a really positive thing.
I saw a guy I hadn't seen in about 5 years. His hair is starting to thin at the front. I didn't mention the hair but said damn man you look like Larry David. (he doesn't... at all) He was like wtf. I said I'm serious man you look like him when he was younger.... surely I'm not the first person to tell you that. It's cool, man.... I freaking love Larry David etc

Exactly. And they've got a million different beers, but 75% you wouldn't use to clean a car engine with, let alone drink....

Pray your flight isn't delayed or cancelled! The last time I came through Heathrow, 3 or 4 weeks ago, QF2 was cancelled, I lost a day at a Heathrow hotel and ended up on an economy seat on a Qatar flight through Doha.
Everyone will pile on about "oh, poor you, economy seat" etc, but I fly a LOT for work, and as a result of that Doha flight I ended up in the back of an ambulance yesterday at 4am, being administered the green whistle, 3 shots of morphine, fentanyl, and something else. I then spent the entire day in the acute care section of the ED where I had multitudes of blood test, chest x-rays, CT scans, and ultra-sounds of my heart.
I have a small blood clot in my lung that started (in their opinion) as a DVT in my calf on that Qatar trip via Doha......

Only delay for me really was we were 20 late pushing back out of the gate at Dubai but we landed on time in Melbourne.
Way there it was Qantas on QF37 to Singapore then a change to QF1. Way back was Emirates EK6 to Dubai and EK406. All economy for me.
I found the aisle seat the better of it just so you could get up anytime you want. EK6 I had the window and was basically at the whim of the people next to me getting up. A380 pick the inner isle. Only one person to get out the way.
