****ing hell True Believer
Rest up mate, take your time and get better.
All good mate, was out for dinner Friday night! Gonna take more than that to stop me. They've got me on blood thinners to clear the clot, which already feels like it's improved to be honest. Getting full expansion of my chest back and no real pain on that side now. Need to get clearance from the docs before my next flight which isn't for about 3 weeks now, and isn't a long haul anyway, I've only got to do domestics for the rest of the year......

With any luck I'll get the go ahead and be back in the gym next week and only miss a week and a bit.....

What line of work are you in True Believer?

I travel a bit for work, everyone seems to think it’s glamorous, which isn’t quite the case!

I run the Australian operation for a UK based multinational. We manufacture industrial components, and the segment I'm in designs and supplies parts to naval ships and submarines.

Advertisments to reality are one thing ( spicy....right ), but McDonalds are highly regarded for quality assurance. They are reknowned for their consistency.
I also had a Muslim quality assurance auditor tell me , that although they are not halal, he had enough confidence in their systems to conclude that the non-halal meet cooties, didn't sneak into the fries.

And you're right, one hotel room/office/factory is the same as another, and you give up your private life for 2 weeks at a time while you're on the road (or whatever the length of trips you do is). You don't get to go home at night and spend time with your kids and sleep next to your wife......

And these days you do meetings during the day and catch up on your regular work back home at night in your hotel room!

Glamorous it is not. There is no sight-seeing, no lazing by a pool drinking cocktails. A plane is a bus with wings..........

I had the occasional overseas trip with work, and i liked that.
THe company i worked for didn't mind me stopping over a few nights at the transfer location ( i paid for the hotel ) on the way back.

Do you need a good carpenter? I come with my own nail gun.

Yep I've done a lot of travelling for work over the last couple of years, not over seas but within Aus. Up to Arnheim Land, Sydney, Albury, Adelaide, Dubbo, Brisbane in the last year. The novelty of travel wears of fairly quickly last week my flight from Albury to Sydney (connection to get home here in Tas) was delayed ....was hoping for a couple of hours to relax between flights but had to run to get the connection.

Getting to these places (especially Arnheim Land Nhulunbuy) is a privilege but it is not relaxing or a holiday!

Motorcycles>helmets>Arai??

Hey
Any motorcycle riders out there?
Bought a Shoei Neotec helmet in 2016.
It felt good trying out in the shop, but after a few weeks it felt tight at the front.
Now it causes me so much pain in the forehead after about 30-40 mins of riding
I live in Japan where helmets are rounder and less oval-yes, even the Japanese brands. (Their export models are shaped differently)

Anyway, after much research I decided that an Arai helmet, even Japan specs, is my best bet (unless I fly to Australia)

I have to buy one size bigger just to get the fore-aft part of my jug inside without cracking it. They’ll put oversized padding on the sides to fill it out. Not ideal but less of the two evils.

So I think I’m settled on the Arai I want but I just got one question. Arai, are no doubt premium, the other stuff felt like plasticy second-rate after I tried theirs, but ARai insist on having this clumsy strap thing with two d-shaped rings which I have to thread the strap through (instead of the simple ratchet like click ‘n push thing all another brand’s have.

I read there are hacks that experienced riders use so that this awkward issue can be made easier. Is anyone familiar with one? Or does one just get used to threading the damn thing everytime - definitely a two hands job

I don't know why fellas find it difficult to read their woman's hormones.

There are subtle little signs.

I walked into the lounge room today and my girlfriend was wrapped in a blanket. She had a bowl of maltezers and she'd searched random acts of kindness of YouTube on the tv. She was sitting there watching, eating chocolate and weeping.

There are subtle little signs.

I don't understand the question?
