Since it's a cabal (if you're reading this, I lost my card, let me in ya bastards) probably got beer, blackjack and scantily clad peoples. You may or may not be able to see due to the smoke haze so I would suggest a hazmat suit to both hide your face and well as protect you from the undesirables lurking about. You can then claim leprosy to keep people away from you as you poke about.

As a middle child myself, going with others is boring. I am however the only Saints amongst immediate and wider fam, so true loner difference to have my own island.

Really tempted to buy an old Tascam 4 track tape portastudio and try to record a raw blues album with it.

I have a pretty dope recording setup now but I love the thought of working with the limitations of an old analog 4 track tape machine.

Yeah they have the option to get some nice kinda saturation on some sounds. Was reading a little while back about some effects pedal company that released a pedal that emulated(?) the gain staging of the channel strip of a Tascam 424 from back in the day. Pretty expensive from memory, boo-teek! The old Tascam machines if they're in good shape fetch a lotta dough these days too

Hadn't seen that pedal.

I've messed around on a couple in the past but never tried to record a project on one. The prices are definitely high. Makes it hard to justify when I already have a capable setup. I'd really love to get a Tascam 388. 1/4 inch 8 track machine. Some pretty cool albums have been done on them. There's one on marketplace for 6k. But just a cassette 4 track would do. I've gone down this huge rabbit hole of watching stuff on YouTube. Guys bouncing down from their tascam onto VHS tapes... all sorts of crazy but cool stuff.

In the 70s my guitar teacher had a thing that looked like just an ordinary single speaker compact cassette player. But it could record 2 track ( using the stereo track i guess. ). Always kept an eye out for one like it but never saw one. Thought it would add a bit of fun to practice. What the kids do on youtube now....jesus, pity half of them are faking.

The old Eagles track of "Take it to the Limit live " on youtube, with Randy Meisner hitting the high note, has been replaced by a version with autotune ( by the official owners ).
Now instead of sounding like a remarkable vocal, it sounds like just another autotune hitting perfect notes.
