George, Harper might have changed the course of this series 😍
I missed the game today and only just got done watching the replay, not knowing how it panned out. Was going wild, Schwarber and Harper hitting them out of the park but I reckon Realmuto's HR was the dagger, put us up 6-1.

I just hoped we would take 1 of the 3 games in Arizona which would set us up to just win 1 of the next 2, in Philly, to advance. And look what happens when you leave Kimbrel and Kerkering out - incredible pitching performance by Wheeler through 7 innings. I rate Nola even higher than Wheeler so pumped for G6 on Tuesday.

Interesting to compare the Ukraine war with the new war in the Middle East.

When the Ukraine war kicked off every random person had an opinion, left and right, on here and in other places I discuss world events.

With the war in the Middle East very few people to have popped up with opinions.

What's the difference between the two conflicts?

You consider public rallies cheering on the initial attack by every Che Guevara-wearing dunce in Australia to be very few?

Was practically one in every progressive pocket all over the globe.

To me its a war that's never stopped.
The place is a mess and i can't think of any way to fix it.

Maybe Gaza should be annexed and administered by Egypt.
The inhabitants "shouldn't" want to kill Egyptians as badly as Israeli's, and who knows, over time it could get to the point where they could have free access to Egypt.

The broader ongoing conflict or this particular chapter ?.

Never going to happen.

Long and short on my end;

Russia are obvious aggressor who give no shits to human life who previously flexed and very obviously covets. USSR was a thing there as was 2014 with Crimea and its oil fields.
Israel & Palestine is a political nightmare steeped in racial and religious biases where Egypt nopes out of the area. They've seen some shit to nope outta things and seal a wall.

Very easy to talk about one, many pissed off people in the second guaranteed.

Meh I ignore those, there's always going to be rallies by fringe groups.

I'm more interested in why everyday people don't seem to have an opinion on this one. Is it because they can't decide or they feel that they don't have enough information or what?

The broader ongoing conflict or this particular chapter ?.

This particular chapter. There's been recurrent and ongoing conflict in Russia and Central Europe for hundreds of years but people still had strong opinions on the Ukraine invasion. Why don't they have strong opinions on the Hamas incursion and the response to it?

Do you support the oppressed victims who stood outside the Sydney Opera house shouting "Death To Jews " ( not Israeli's , Jews ), or do you support the Victims of terrorists who blatantly made land grabs in area's that were given to Palestinians.

Its almost like watching a war between Stalin and Hitler.

Pretty much i feel sorry for any people there who are trying to live a normal life.

Its a John Wick movie.
Someone killed John Wick's dog, and he's going to teach them a lesson.

I think they do but just not easy to voice it with out writing an essay on it. Russia is trying to occupy a country and Israel/Palestine are examples of why it’s not something that usually works out for the best. Realistically most of these war-fronts are the outcome of the stronger nations ****ing in their politics.

The Palestine/Israel debate can spill over into anti-semitism anti-muslim stuff very quickly. Hamas is completely unjustified attacking Israeli citizens but the Bibi regime who are stacked with religious nutters shouldn't be allowed to use it to commit war crimes on the Gazans either.

At the end of the day these people will become pawns in a war between bigger nations. Bigger nations generally want to sell weapons or reap oil riches and don't give many ****s about either people. It will become a massive propaganda war and until the dust settles we won't know the full picture....if ever.

The US will always back Israel and see them as a dam wall between the Middle East and the west. This regime is a pretty terrible one that a lot of Israelis are concerned about. Religion should never get too close to politics and this one is very close on both sides.

Yeah, it's the citizens on both sides that wear the losses for some ****wits that are barely competent at the top.

I’m sure they do, I support Israel’s right to defend itself and think it’s a joke the same people who called the massacre of innocents a glorious day now call for restraint in the response.

I don’t see what other than a military response on this scale was expected. The sorts of warnings and efforts made to spare civilians is more than anyone else has given. Anyway I think it’s a terrible situation with no easy solution, I can’t think of any concession Israel could make that would satisfy its enemy’s. You see plenty of hand wringing because it truly is terrible for people trapped in Gaza but what are Egypt and Jordan saying? Not one refugee. How many did saudi’s take from Syria ? But there’s Humza Yousaf the Scottish pm talking absolute garbage about taking palestinian refugees.

I saw an article from Sam butt clench claiming Israel had fallen into a trap and were breeding a new generation of terrorists who will hate them, bad this bad that generally critical. I just watched a piece last week on a UN program where the money goes straight to hamas and is used to radicalise a new generation of young kids complete with pictures of them training with automatic weapons and pledging the destruction of Israel, Australia just restarted our suspended payments to that program. So much for this breeding a new generation, like they aren’t already there.

Anyway it’s an awful mess for many reasons which many, many people have tried without success to solve. I support Israel’s right to exist and to defend itself, are there limits yeah sure, what are they, I’m truly not sure but they haven’t breached them yet Imo.

It’s a bit more complicated than a land grab, the history of this part of the world is amazing and very complicated. Just the post ww1 League of Nations carve up and mandates is complicated enough, that worked out well and the UN are just as bad.

Until the 20th century the Ottomans tended to be pretty tolerant to religion ( as long as taxes were paid ).
The people of Palestine were pretty much forced to co-exist.

Jews did put up with a lot of discrimination for a long time though, and i can see why they felt they needed their special "own place to live ".

That’s debatable but it’s really before the ottomans and before them and before them and so on into antiquity. The world is just one long list of one race or religion replacing another only to be replaced themselves or morph into some blended population. I remember the map of the world including place names being quite different and people collect old globes and maps in part because of that, some are quite rare.
