I've worked with some tough bitch female operators who were ultra assertive and plenty of soft utensil males. There is almost an overcompensation for a lot of women in higher roles. They feel the need to earn respect through authoritarian attitudes. In corporate retail a lot of men were overly confident with * all to back it up. The women were generally a lot more competent and hard working. It was an era where as long as you went for a Friday piss up with the boys you'd move up the ladder through nepotism. I'm sure it's balanced out a bit by now.
Any well paying job at the top of any company is going to be competitive. That's how it should be though. The market dictates that you need certain characteristics if you want to work in a cut throat environment, work long hours, sacrifice family for your job. Reality is that it's not what most women want, whereas men, on average, are willing to tick those boxes. That's why it's diluted, at least for the corporate type roles.

It happens in any industry though. Men and women are different, have different interests and ambitions so will gravitate towards careers that support their life outside of work.

Pain in the ass , one of the recipients only eats meat and potato, so i had to cook just meat , sauce , and noodles for him then add the vegetables from a second pot.

I used to work with a transgender women and she was a gun, did about 10 people's job and was so keen to be seen as a positive she made the rest of us look s**t. She didn't look trans and they used to wind up young guys from other departments asking if they'd sleep with her and then suggesting that they were gay when they inevitably said yes. It was a bit of a different time.
recently i hired a transgender person the position i was employing for required a high level of skill to fulfil this person was up against a male employee who had been around for 25 years he knew his stuff no doubt and he had been around the block a few times so he would have been capable but he also had a reputation for being a lone wolf doing things his way cause he "knew better" in his interview he actually spoke about the staff members he would demote and who he would push out the door ... the other candidate was ready for the next challange they had been under utilised in their previous role they saw the role as a challange to grab with both hands and develop the team around them ....
needless to say the male candidate didnt take it well being overlooked ... they then bad mouthed the successful candidate to basically anyone who would listen ..
four months in the team is thriving and makeing great inroads proving the other guy wrong ...
