I have a steak at least three times a week and I like to get in a couple of meals of fresh from the market fish.

The fresh from the market thing is tricky now.
A lot of the fish is frozen on board the boats.

At one point they made it so that people could only legally buy fish through wholesalers ( which had always been frozen ).
Lot of people complained, the fishing boats wanted to be able to sell to locals and tourists.
I remember the Marlo pub complaining that the boats would come in, ship all the fish to Lakes Entrance an hour away, and get fish that came in from Lakes.

Now they have a fresh from the boat system, but they can only sell it within 30km of their port.

My understanding is that the vast majority of modern fishing boats freeze their catch on board, so i don't know where the large commercial supplies of "fresh fish " come from.
I've always thought the industry is a bit shonky.
My Brother, a Chef, seriously believed that those little perfectly round pieces of skate ( or something ) were scallops , and that there was a type of scallop without roe.
There is also far more Barramundi sold than what is actually caught.

I've just been and checked out a mates new place, awesome spot, split with his missus just sold their house, 51, he has landed on his feet, living with people from all around the world $200 a week, awesome community, lovely energy filled environment, the Adelaide Hills (except Mt. Barker-sorry PC, its a shit hole - with AFL lol) is the best spot in this Country...just saying ❤️

Just went for another walk around the pines, still night, birds randomly piping up, frogs randomly telling them GAGF, lights blaring from the pub on a dead Monday night with a single van and no one in sight. Star my walk to the bridge so I can do a lap of the oval and back way home it, as I am on approach what do I hear ahead of me...

A womans voice giggling. Nothing but giggling.

Now, I've seen many a horror film to know what that entails, and a womans voice getting carried in near silence and a dog piping up with an ending snarl is foreboding that something is amiss and to not approach the light that is a skate park and track since track can be dug into. So instead, did a few laps from main street to just before to simulate the oval got halfway, called it when dog piped up again and woman got to talking to either herself or a compatriot to GTFO back home.

Next time taking a hatchet instead of a second phone just to run an app on one and use the other...

In daylight it'd look weird, lucky it was midnight and I only really had the birds for company, though, I also don't like how they developed the creekbed, it's far too open in one area, almost like drunk patrons like seeing a road through rando trees instead of you know, the trees and waterfowl and such in reeds. Their floodlights kill the vibe.

We can just do what this guy did. Apparently he was pissed off with being pulled up for his less than inclusive language so came out as trans and now they can't get rid of him. It's a head * for us progressive types.

Jesus 🤦🏼‍♂️

I'll never forget the day I met Tony Lockett. He was suspended or injured. 1984? I was 12 or 13 years of age.

My Dad, Hawthorn member, took me to Linton St. We lost by 100 points. That might not be true but we lost by a lot!

I have Pluggers autograph somewhere.

recently i hired a transgender person the position i was employing for required a high level of skill to fulfil this person was up against a male employee who had been around for 25 years he knew his stuff no doubt and he had been around the block a few times so he would have been capable but he also had a reputation for being a lone wolf doing things his way cause he "knew better" in his interview he actually spoke about the staff members he would demote and who he would push out the door ... the other candidate was ready for the next challange they had been under utilised in their previous role they saw the role as a challange to grab with both hands and develop the team around them ....
needless to say the male candidate didnt take it well being overlooked ... they then bad mouthed the successful candidate to basically anyone who would listen ..
four months in the team is thriving and makeing great inroads proving the other guy wrong ...

Sounds like you hired the best person for the job. Which has nothing to do with hiring to a preordained quota based on arbitrary ratios set around social demographics. As against just hiring the best person for the job.

Yes it was quite bizarre not being able to get fresh fish in costal towns with fishing co ops. I buy from the same couple of suppliers and I’m buying local stuff nothing exotic. I’ve also been spear fishing and fishing for over 50 years and know my fish.

Makes me piss that some old boomer has taken the shitposting to heart to the point that he felt compelled to create a new acc at 1am to LaY tHe sMaCkDoWn 🤣

Living rent free in the heads of many is a dream even I didn't think was possible, yet here we are 😎

as a hiring manager you are always going to hire the best for the job... my personal KPI's are set on the performance of the team i build to deliver results so it is never in my best interest to not hire the best available.. the mindset change now days is to look further into the candidates that you are employing and not let bias come into the decision... very often there is not much seperating candidate A and candidate B with either being suitable for the role in that situation i look at the dynamic of the team and see who will add something differant to the mix in my industry that often means taking the female option

Me and some mates were diving out near Cliffy Island ( near Wilsons Promontory ) one year.
There were some big fish there, and we speared one each, though they thrashed around and bled quite a lot , so in the remote location was kind of giving off shark vibes. Doubly so after we surfaced and found that fisherman had parked near us and were throwing burley into the water.

Showed some guys in the pub at Port Welshpool, none of them knew what they were.

Turned out they were Red Morwong. None of the locals knew them, because you won't catch them on a hook.
They were pretty good to eat.

so long story short ... business makes a slogan to promote "buy everything" in one shop... triggered nuff nuffs assume its a decision to be PC/woke/inclusive so they lose their minds so business changes it ....

what a world we live in where the facts are irrelevant
Almost as bad as these woke losers
