Weird cricket names #2: Umm-E-Hani

Like I get it, Pakistani so lost in translation, but this somehow sounds very unsure.

As the above is a female cricketer though, in a random parallel universe there very well might be an Umm E-Burger rolling around.

You live down there , boy there are some shanty towns down that area , went for a drive while i was staying at port albert , wasn't sure i was going to make it back alive

It's pretty shabby but not unsafe. You can actually launch boats and drive on the beach without waiting an hour for everyone else up there. Metung and Inveloch are probably the ones you want up there if you don't like shabby ferals.

Inverloch is the Portsea of the area - Cape Paterson next & Wonthaggi last (whoa what a dump for those poor buggers down on their luck!)

My family has a holiday house at one of the "hovels", it was self built by my mum's uncle. 20 years ago the town would have been an ideal location for a local version of "the hills have eyes". Now days it seems like people like to have a nice double story house in the middle of a swamp, the road is paved and the bridge and jetty are largly intact.
When i was a real young kid it was an adventure, the old footbridge had missing planks you had to jump across, and the whole thing swayed in the current. The foreshore had been a number of old boathouses. There were lots of boats moored permanently back then, and it was mostly holiday homes or retired people who wanted to spend all their time fishing. Some of the properties really only had a one room and an outhouse.

It was in the 80s a lot of dropouts and people on the dole went there as a cheap place to live.
They had a few crime spree's but the locals knew who it was and they practically got run out of town.
The house next to my family's had a guy move in who seemed to spend most of his time getting drunk or stoned. He's still there. He likes to borrow stuff without asking but he's mostly harmless.

My mate's family had a house in Noosa. Sigh.

Looks like Mann's Beach still has a the old "Hills have Eyes look about it".

But check out Avalon Beach, near Geelong, it hasn't changed since they filmed the first Mad Max there.

Far out I open up bigfooty and think f*ck yeah 7 pages of quality discussion about our players but instead it's like an episode of big brother. whoever de-railed this thread ought to have a good hard look at themselves.

PS. Saw Dougal Howard and Max King involed in a game of twister that turned ugly at revs on the weekend. Fraser Gehrig was holding Dougal back while shielding Nick Riewoldt who was in the corner having a cry w*nk over Kath not coming out while he's down from the US.
It's my fault....I posted the banh mi photo....

I didn't see a lot of other stuff about 2024 pre-season before that.
Saw a lot of trash about King/Howard a year ago and some speculation about Battle.

The Bahn Mi was no less topical.
Don't blame it on the moonlight

Don't blame it on the Sunshine,

Don't blame it on the good times

Blame it on the Dougal

Wear a flanny and tie an onion to your belt and they won't pick you for an outsider? [emoji3]
Onions on the belt were the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we? Oh, yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

We definitely need a "Bullsh*t, Bitterness and Banh Mi" thread where 95% of this thread can go immediately!!

Morwell on a weekend - tumbleweeds!

Morwell is proper rough these days. I stopped in Moe a while back and it's very clean and neat. Stopped in Morwell and didn't think my car would still be there when I got back.
