Yeah, it's a place that lots of lawyers have property. It's a bit middle age men in white boat shoes and ladies with leathery orange faces and pastel slacks for me but it's a nice place.
Metung used to be a mosquito infested shit hole that no-one had heard of, now it's turned into a millionaire's row for holiday "shacks". Vincentia up on the NSW coast in Jervis bay was the same years ago. A couple of dozen old school holiday homes, great fishing, and mossies big enough to carry off a small child. Now it's built out with multi-million dollar holiday homes for the well-heeled of Sydney.

Now you're behaving like your namesake, a petulant little kid and if you had any idea you wouldn't have gone through lakes on the way to Merimbula therefore saving you all the stress

Come on, you know his parents caved in after miles of "BUT MUUUUM I WANT MACCA'S FOR LUNCH....I WANT IT MAUUUUUM"

Still got the mozzies though. Best to carry a shot gun in case they attack.

Should have got a cheap Chinese phone they work just as well as Pixels.
Sure the Chinese eavesdrop, but if you bitch about your car enough the next Chery might be perfect for you.

Had an offer, the 6 was good to me so just updated as DGAF. If Chairman comes in with a Chery sweetner he's got a deal, I'l take it down to RSEA and lol at Mason Wood before driving off again going by his shorts...

Got a new phone as old one had a crack in it, is smaller than my old one despite both being Pixels, finding a case I like is a bit of a pain in the arse...
Make one out of an old car tyre.

Not bagging, asking the question. Places get flashed up all the time. Lake Tyres was meant to be rough as * back in the day. There was an aboriginal reserve down there and people in Gippsland talked about it like you'd get bashed for going anywhere near it.

The Aboriginal "Reserve" (yes you call it that if you think of Aboriginals rounded up like animals) you refer to is Bung Yarnda. The community, which was once a mission, is still there and has always been a beautiful peaceful place with wonderful mobs. Many Stolen Generation Aboriginal children were sent there. Some sad stories but probably one of the safest places in the state, always has been. Beautiful country.

I can remember if you drove up past lakes, it might have been close to Nowa Nowa, there was a service station that had an Aboriginal art place next to it. My family would often stop there for the servo, and go into the other shop to look at the arts and crafts and sometimes buy something.

I agree, from my recollection that area ( Lake Tyres etc ) was never a place to be avoided.

Yep, you head past Tyres and drop a right hand turn onto Rules Road, keep going to the end and you are there.

I vaguely remember going there as a kid.
We'd stayed at Lake Entrance and gone to a different beach for boredom relief.
Also remember going there when i was a bit older, and netting a LOT of prawns.
Last time I travelled through the Victorian SE was back in 92 and I was pulling cones from the drivers seat doing 130 whilst my mate steered from the passenger seat .... good times!!

Sorry about the phrasing, no offence meant. I've read up on it before, perhaps I'll go check it out and have a look for myself. Having family in Gippsland people talked about LT like it was not to go to for outsiders. It was probably total shit but that was the mythology. A mate was telling me about how there was some place in Jindivick that had a back and forwards from LT. Sounds like an interesting place.

I think they were sent to Lake Tyres after the government seized Coranderkk from memory.

The town of Lake Tyres is on one side of the inlet, and what is now named the "Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust " was on the other, so it was never something you needed shoved in your face if you wanted to avoid it.

Our family stayed at lakes Entrance a few years. Us kids thought that the inlet at Lake Tyers was better than the front lake at Lakes Entrance. Wasn't as weedy and salty.
Its also a pretty big estuary and was great for fishing back then. ( May still be , but i haven't been there for a long time ).

No offence taken at all. It is funny how myths spread because many of the people that arrived there were broken but beautiful souls who were harmless. You are spot on re Coranderkk. Ramahyuck, Condah and Coranderrk were the areas where most of the Aboriginals came from to get to Bung Yarnda. As you can see in the link, I provide below, no visitors are allowed out at the moment due to COVID risks etc without permission. If you ever want to visit let me know and I will tee it up, you must have permission first or alternatively contact the Trust below.

I found something on the place in Jindivick. Might be of interest to you.

I didn't get around to this until now. Spanian is so cute, how's the state of him? Going on about the elites meeting there often and why this and why that, good old Spanios will uncover the truth lmao
