My grandparents were WWII country folks. They were more accepting and open minded than most people these day. A story he used to tell us was when he was first married and didn't have much money, his cows got out of the paddock and a neighbour called the council and had them all impounded. The ranger dobbed the neighbour in.

A while later the same thing happened to the neighbour and instead of calling the council my grandpa rounded up the cows and locked them back up in the blokes paddock. He used it as a parable about why you shouldn't stoop to being a c#$%.

Used to do my head in but now I get it. Living a good life and leaving people to live theirs is a good set of rules.

You’re correct, the world is heading down the head-up-arse path of “renewables”. Everyone gets a battery! What are they made of again? How efficient are they?

Nah it’s not that bad. Distributed grid is much more resilient than having a small number of sources with high-voltage transmission lines leading to major population centres. Failure in a distributed grid means a few houses might lose power rather than whole regions.

And battery tech is moving super fast. Even ten years ago it was pretty shit but they’ve got moving on it. Densities continue to increase steadily and there are a bunch of viable material combinations with different pros and cons. And before long it should be commercial to recycle big batteries so none of the rare earths and other materials are lost.

And from a financial point of view you can add capacity in small increments for relatively low capital cost and do so fairly quickly, and update the tech mix relatively easily. With grid scale power you need to make decisions a long way in the future and then you’re stuck with the old tech for decades. It’s generally nicer all round to have small capex increments when tech is developing fast.

Trying them out tonight. I’m a bit frightened, he reckons the boys have to wear mask and gloves in a well ventilated room when they make them and to be careful breathing in the smoke when cooking.

Good reason to be, ghost chilis were the hottest chili alive before the reaper came along almost a decade or so ago, so when you consider habanero has 350k scoville and the ghost is 6x more potent, if you are not used to it it will, generally be something like "this isn't so bad it's actually tast-oh f..." as it just builds, and builds, and builds, and builds....

So yes, do be sure to wash hands and such when handling that raw or cooked as it can burn, slowly.

Edit: do update though, I know I can't handle that heat, find it as heat for heats sake, but I so wanna know how it taste and if it's good or not as I love me some chili'd meat goods.

Ok so I’m just writing this from hospital.

They weren’t totally stupidly hot but way out of my league. I’ve had hotter but I just can’t remember when.
They did have a nice flavour for about the first fifty milliseconds.
The non chilli sausages I cooked next to them in the barby came out with the perfect heat

Probably the habenero mellowing it a little, but yeah good to know to avoid like the plague anything with it in there, nice ot know you had a control group just in case, as yeah butchers like the one you described know their product, so at least it wasn't a total loss. If you swallowed that piece, you did better than me on first taste of a ghost as I spat that shit out as yeah, the first salivating is delish and then I just hated life when I had it.

Now you can investigate sourcing the chili raw and maybe doing something with via proxy, adding mango or otherwise to sweeten it a little flavour wise if so desired. I'd just say, don't use it as an oil, that makes it worse.
