So Byron Bluesfest has collapsed. Ticket Holders have been told they're not getting their money back.

Unfortunately that means many artists who were going to tour the country on the back of their bluesfest shows are no longer coming.

One such act is Buddy Guy. My 13 year old son has become a massive blues fan. His favourite blues artist is Buddy Guy. I'd bought tickets to see him at the Palais and hadn't told him. I mean dude is 90 but would have meant a lot to my son and I'm guessing last chance to see him play. I had this whole elaborate plan for surprising him on the night. Got a text yesterday that it's been cancelled. F*ckityshitf*ck.

Yeah the whole thing sounds pretty suss, particularly after they advertised last year's festival as the final one, thereby squeezing out all that extra business. I'm also hearing ticket holders may not be refunded for this year and cancelling three weeks before or whatever it was has left a lot of people out of pocket, food stall holders etc. A true shitshow.

I actually toyed with going this year. I'd be pretty pissed if I wasn't getting my money back.

Thankfully I'll be refunded my Buddy Guy tickets.

But yeah, massive shitshow. I don't think the lineup this year was that amazing. They just didn't sell enough tickets. maybe people were pissed about the big deal made last year about it being the last ever bluesfest.

Regardless... damn shame. I've been many times and seen amazing artists there. I even saw James Brown play there.

I love a good festival and was looking forward to taking my kids in the not too distant future.

I might try and get back to the Woodford Folk festival soon.

I am making Industrial Hemp blocks in Dandenong ATM for a building job in Tweed heads.
Had the customer come to the factory to inspect the progress on Thursday. He brought a film crew with him to film the blocks being made, apparently it is for a 6 part Netflix series that follows the process of his house being built. The producer told me it is currently scheduled to air next February, with a condensed version to screen as an Imax film as well for those with short attention spans.
The customer was a bloke by the name of Zac Efron.
For anyone who watches it next year, at the brick factory I am the dude in the green work shirt and work pants, also wearing my favorite craft brewery's cap (Red Penny Brewery). Hopefully the cap makes the directors cut.
A carton of Red Penny Ice coffee stout as payment sounds fair, thoughts anyone?🤞🍻

Cool stuff mate, I know the area where his property is in the Tweed Valley, have some friends not too far away. Bloody beautiful area! Remember seeing this a while back...

Seems like it was a good time to purchase a 48kW battery, a heat pump for electric water and ordered the new Atto 3 for later in the year.
Going completely off grid by October this year.
For some reason I imagined you already being off the grid...

Actually, I imagined a bunker somewhere, but, you know...... ;) :roflv1:

V2G coming anytime soon?

Got solar with 20kw worth of battery. Kia EV6 with 70kw battery on board so as soon as V2G gets approved we’re on!

You reckon I'm a prepper? Nah just sick of the cost of energy.
With a VPP like Amber Electric I can sell high and buy low at wholesale and actually make money.
A big capital outlay to get fully set up. Had a 13kW 24 panel solar array for about 18 months.
That plus the battery and heat pump was a 25k layout, but would have been about 50ks withput STC's and govt subsidies.
Should have recouped around the time I die or dement.

I'm considering the same TBH, but have a probate to get through first before I start wholesale changes. Suffice to say, single me and getting the most bang for my buck for plans I have to be fully sustainable, but I'm also planning to get peeps in to look at the wiring also as since 1970's and earthquakes and such you never know if things need updating and I do have a ducted under floor system to pull out as said panel has exposed wiring at present.

I am however, if my health continues as is, already partly demented as the RA brings brain fog as it progresses, so as I age it's all downhill for me, so might as well be comfy I suppose. Hence why further plans have a jaccuzi in them, so red wine and heated bubbles....

Sounds like a good tip. Only heard of it for the first time a few weeks ago. Good fried chicken is one of the world's great foods! 😃

Dude….

I was in the city today and there was an old lady standing on a crate screaming the gospel. An angry man dressed as a goth woman went up to the old lady and yelled “you have no definitive proof that God exists”
I said “I do….. Nene Chicken”

Ok that didn’t happen…. But dude….

The worlds best fried chicken is having the good teenagers at kfc make their own dinner.

When my best mate and I were on the cook shift and when we gave a **** a lot of people got KFC better then the **** ads.

Zingers and Wicked Wings were perfect and made our own chips (and stole drinks and crispy strips)
