Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

I'm not risking it. Leaving at 11.30 to get there by 11.45. Secure seats then get a pass out for a few hours.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

Woo hoo, we are (almost) there, under 4 hours.

Also leaving at 12.00, and we have reserved seats.

Aisle 10, Row E, 5 pies supporters about to bring in the real new year in style.

Can't wait, and I can pick up my membership hat today too.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

I somehow managed to book 3 seats level one aisle 13! (row v however) 2 days ago, i think they released some extra seats. (in the AFL reserve) You guys may as well check online now, there may be a few extra seats and you can save a few hours.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

i learnt last night that st kilda supporters have to resort to personal attacks and attacking supporters of clubs that former players go to than actually putting any substance to any argument they have

Actually, Ray doesn't discriminate against us like most umps, he treats all clubs badly.:)

I'd be more worried about the umpires you don't know (Pannel?) then the ones you do.

Umpiring won't decide this match hopefully, although it will be close, so it is possible for 1-2 late decisions to effect the result.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

Not worried about the men in white (or yellow, red, green, whatever they choose to wear).
Worried about our boys and obviously worried about the Dogs running brigade.
Not long to go now, go Pies.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

Hey everyone, this is my first year as a member ('Rookie' 11-game membership) and I'll be attending the game against Melbourne this weekend. So basically - what do I do? Where do I enter, do I still have to pay for a ticket, are the champagne flutes provided?

Seriously though, I'd really appreciate the very basic basics from my esteemed and experienced fellow posters.

Just a note - I have always in the past been pretty content to sit right up the top deck in GA, as I prefer to be able to see the whole ground rather than be close to the action, so I'm not too fussed about where exactly I sit.

Just scan your membership card at the turnstiles to gain entry to the ground, no additional ticket required. You should be able to get in at all gates, excluding the MCC member's gate and the AFL member's gate (can't remember the gate numbers). GA is usually Levels 1 & 3, but not all areas are available. Should be plenty of seats, I don't expect many Melbourne supporters to attend!

My son and I usually sit up there as it gives him a greater appreciation of how to read and understand the game, and I just like the way you can see how the play is going to unfold.

Re: The random "footy" thoughts thread

I heard this from my uncle, they know someone who knows an AFL captain (i'm not naming him so dont bother asking) whol told them this.

They rekon Nick Riewoldst is the biggest w***er, at the captains launch he was just on his phone for about 5 hours doing business i suppose while all the other captains were mixing in with eachother.. at the end he shook hands and introduced himself to new captains saying this is a tough job and good luck, all this la di da shit.

they reckon he's one of the biggest w***ers in the comp, totally up himself.

J.Browns the best bloke you'll ever meet they said

and nick maxwell is a very smart intellectual leader :)

this is all out of the mouth of a captain.

Old news on Reiwoldt. Did the "source" happen to tell you "Roo's" real hair colour?
I reckon he's a full on ranga. Maybe Maxie should turn him upside down and check him in round 3?
