Hi Pie dude(ttes). I've written this article for The Guardian on Ted Whitfield from South Melbourne.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2013/jul/04/ted-whitfield-bloodbath-final-forgotten-story

I'd really appreciate you at the very least hitting the link and having a read, although if you could twitter it etc that would be great. Every hit is a carrot in my children's mouths and a Salada in mine.
That was a good read, Old Spice. How different were those times?! I remember as a young kid being in the change room at half time during a 60's practice match and seeing Terry Waters and others smoking cigarettes. Downing 6 beers like Ted Whitfield seems utterly bizarre by modern standards.

Thanks. Love that he didn't want to waste his ticket to the cabaret ball.

Not an avid reader myself, probably read a book every 3 months or so...But my wife is a book lover, she would probably leave for a book one day. Anyway, she keeps buying/getting all these books & we have so many and not enough space to put them in. So, for the last 3 years I have been working on my plan to get her a Kindle. Initially, she flat out refused as you'd expect, like you said there is something joyous about holding a book in our hands. So I kept chipping away and then about 10 months ago one of her friends who also is massive book nerd turned up at our place with a Sony book reader in her bag. The plan was working and I was ready to go in for the kill.
So, for this year's wedding anniversary i bought a Kindle off Amazon. It arrived, I placed it strategically in the study, with it's cover on, fully charged and about a dozen books from her favourite authors on it ready to go. She picked it up with reluctance, like a lover who is about to break up and is not sure if it the right decision. She sat down and tried to work it out, I had to help with navigation and general settings.

That was 4 months ago. Couple of weeks ago we were lying in bed, she was reading a book, on her kindle, when she rolled over, looked at me & said ' This is the best present you have ever given me apart from our child'.

Game. Set. Match.

Now, I don't have to worry about storing books that will never be read twice & also not feel guilty about all the tress being chopped for paper. There will be the odd book that we will hold on our shelves but majority will be passed on to the library.
My daughter is buy a new mini ipad and giving me her old one, might try for reading. Still it will sadden me if if we lose the printed form if too many go electronically.

Well I've done something pretty awesome today too!

I have just built my own website and it's now live!!

todayinitalyapp.com

any feedback appreciated. :)

I like the look of, just something small i noticed in the "about" section some of the text didn't line up perfectly, and you capitalized "App" twice but left it as "app" once in the first paragraph on the "about" section. Just my impression after a quick skim, don't want to be too critical of the small things ;)

I like the simplicity and video though

Edit* loved the testimonial from "swoop" of bigfooty, sounds like a really knowledgeable guy :p

Hypothethical: If buckley said something racist in a meeting is it okay for O'Brien to stop playing?
From a contract stand point I'm not sure, but from my perspective, definitely.

But if it was something stupid like the Eddie/Goodes incident, I'd be pretty pissed if O'Brien walked out on something like that.

What a fabulous weekend. :)

Two wins and everybody's happy. :D

Cooking a yummy dinner of pasta with prawns, tomato and pistacchio to celebrate the 'feel good' moment :p
(favourite Sicilian recipe)

All welcome :rainbow:
I would never have thought of tomato & pistachio as a combo that works. Obviously it does, could you PM me a taste?:)
