Okay everyone - serious question. Playing pick-up sticks with my grand-children and both hate losing. Couldn't believe getting upset because one or the other got the black one stick and cleaned up. Hopefully it is just an age thing (6 and 8). How do you teach kids to be a good losers?

At that age children thinks the universe revolve around them, it's a pretty normal reaction i would think and nothing to worry about.

When their older hopefully after watching the pies lose 1-2 games a year and gracefully shaking their opponents hands they'll learn :p

the best thing i reckon now is to talk to them about why losing is okay, but it probably won't sink it till their older

Make them barrack for the Dees?

Seriously though, what did you do with your own kids?

What the heck is up with Gary Sinise being all over free-to-air TV tonight? 3 movies that he's appeared in have been/are on tonight. Apollo 13, Ransom and Snake Eyes. I thought I was losing my mind when I saw him popping up every time I changed the channel!:D

What's your guys' opinion on the club nicknaming Seedsman as "Lez"?

Some people have referred to it as childish, and it somewhat is, but I'm completely fine with it.

I think as long as Seedsman is fine with it, no harm is really done.

Plus it's funny as ****!

Hi Pie dude(ttes). I've written this article for The Guardian on Ted Whitfield from South Melbourne.

I'd really appreciate you at the very least hitting the link and having a read, although if you could twitter it etc that would be great. Every hit is a carrot in my children's mouths and a Salada in mine.
A good read Spicey, about a man after my own heart.
Pity he was a Souths player.

What is funny about it? Does it have a double meaning?

Really enjoyed it OS. You mention Laurie Nash, he was a mate of my father's. Dad grew up in Richmond, was a Tigers man, but Nashy (as Dad called him) was his favourite footballer. Footy, and suburbs, were very tribal in those days, but that didn't stop Dad from marrying a girl from Collingwood (my mum).

Oh well end of year, financials to do - next two weeks doing books etc. Helping friends who have tried hard to get a small business going. Depressing time, hate seeing how much money they have spent with very little return. No cheque this year, just a loss. Anyone expecting a juicy cheque from tax department?
Used to love this time of year when I was working as always paid extra tax and using money from tax return for a holiday.

Kew. Very simple to get down to vic park, only one bus down. One tram down to the G. Pretty blessed to live here but one downside is that it has no train station. Where I live is right in the middle between Glenferrie and Hawthorn station.
