More like Bones but lighter, some humour and good acting. Cop's mother, brothers are a little bit dysfunctional.
All right, more to download then. I'm trying to collect some new stuff. I'm thinking of doing a spur of the moment (while getting prepared:p) trip to the country for a week. I don't know where, I just know I'm stressed out & the bills are just going to keep coming anyway. Me being around is not helping the builders go any faster.

I might head down to the otway ranges, heaps of nice little walks to some great Aussie bush & waterfalls.

So jealous, friend of mine loves that area.
I just enjoy the show because it is light and you can go brain dead for 40 minutes. Same with Major Crimes which is a spin off from The Closer. Just in case you think that alI I do is watch TV shows it is more like I only sleep about 3-4 hours per night.

My cousin recommends some series called The Borges or Vorges or something like that, about early popes and what they got up to. Does anyone know what it is she was rabbiting on to me about?

If the OE lived in Thailand or another developing country, he would be watching his builders like a hawk to make sure they:
(a) Turned up to work
(b) Didn't steal materials
(c) Didn't substitute inferior materials for the stuff they stole

The Otways are nice. I took myself up there earlier this year. You've got Apollo Bay, the lighthouse, koala bears, forests, hills and sea. What more could you want?

Don't know how I managed to abbreviate to an E not an A. My apologies.:oops:
In former times, I ignored smilies, thinking them to be throwaway attachments to a chunk of prose. Just last week on email, I created a kind of picture page of words and symbols from nature, travel, activities etc. I never knew that so many options are available on hotmail.

It was fun making it visually appealing for the receiver.:D It's been 5 days now since I sent the email.:( Maybe they only check their emails once a week or they've been passed on to their grand children to read. Also, it gives people like Dave a visual clue to any underlying emotion. An ;) , or a :p are like sign posts to the implied emotion in a comment. Many posters favour :thumbsu: or :rainbow:.

Dave didn't fall for the Grundy ACL taunt in the VFL thread. He knew bullshit there when he saw it. That was actually an interesting thread to read, though I was unable to participate because of my ban. What's humour, what's acceptable humour versus insult or transgressions of rules? People were getting a bit unhappy with each other, but when finally viewed in context, the joke didn't seem too outrageous.

No sure about that, I took more exception as I am a little superstitious and wouldn't wish for anyone (from any team and especially a young person just starting out) to befall an injury like that. The fact that it may have also have been designed to suck Dave in also upset me. I suppose I have a different sense of humour.

I didn't find it funny. Generally, such comments are regarded as unacceptable, so you are probably correct. Fortunately I knew that Grundy had not done an ACL when I read that he had.

Fair enough M5! It May have also been slightly blown out of proportion due to the amount of reconstructions we have suffered over the last 2 years( both knee and shoulders) the expectation on this kid as well as his disappointing start with injury. I think a lot of supporters see him as the next big thing??

I’m Baaaaack!

I’ve done my time and now I’m back
As too is Mooney, and The Sack,
A week of silence is what I got
For use of language way too hot

I’m not complaining, I did the crime,
(As I search here vainly for a rhyme),
A Bomber’s fan slagged off at Bucks,
I told him ‘Hey! Your opinion sucks!’

Filters turned lewd words to mush
But my anger did not wish to hush,
An orifice of female persuasion
Seemed apposite on this occasion

But when a ‘u’ became a symbol (*)
(A trick, I thought, so very nimble)
My forum post became the cause
Of a heinous breach of BF laws

My Hotmail page has looked so sparse
No BF alerts to help time pass,
But now I’m back from being banned,
Glad to be home in Poster land

Our Magpie mods whose faith I’ve tested
Boast appendages that can’t be bested.
My thanks to those who wished me well,
And may the Bombers burn in hell!

Welcome back again Mate!
Absolute Gold, I have replaced the lords prayer on my toilet door with this.:D

Yes, the last thing we want is for our society to be infiltrated by the insurgents, and it can take so long to process them when they arrive without any documents.

It would be so much better if their 'legal' applications could be processed more quickly in their home country so that they didn't have to resort to such desperate measures.
People that arrive by boat without documentation have not done anything illegal. Unless proven otherwise they are refugees and are entitled to certain rights under international law. Unfortunately our new PM has decided to take an even tougher stand than the liberals and send them to PNG, a country known for treating people in the worse possible way. We should all be ashamed of this country.

I agree with you jmac.

i think maybe I didn't make myself very clear. I was trying to say that those boats are easy place to infiltrate with insurgents, and therefore the processing of genuine refugees needs to be diligent.

However this latest development is abhorrent, no better than the Nauru solution, and it is disgraceful the way we push these desperate people around.

The money they spend on their 'solutions' could be so well directed to integrating people in society, but instead they run these terrible 'fear' campaigns and politicise a tragic human situation.

It is a very sad affair. The numbers of people arriving by boat is insignificant compared to people who overstay their visa after arriving by plane. These people arrive from countries like the UK. As we have seen recently, insurgents are more likely to be home grown these days.

The Sinhalese and Iranians appear to be the two groups giving boat-borne refugees a bad name. Apart from them, boat people have largely been assessed as genuine refugees. A number of Sinhalese from Sri Lanka were said to be coming here by boat because they had been told that Australia would re-settle them. The Tamils from Sri Lanka were persecuted by the Sinhalese and treated abominably by government troops near the end of the war.

Even when I am unsure about the rights and wrongs of refugees coming here by boat, I get annoyed at the Labour Party's lack of commitment to principles. Their policies are too often defined by public opinion, and ordinary people aren't necessarily right all the time. Is it really the fault of our policy that so many people drown at sea?

I cannot imagine the level of courage or desperation involved in boarding these decrepit vessels and risking your life at sea. People from refugee countries are almost certain to be poor swimmers with little hope of surviving once forced from their boat into the water.

This latest policy twist of sending them to PNG is truly alarming and seems to contradict everything that the labour party is supposed to stand for. In Victoria 30 families have recently been "released" into society whilst their claims are being processed. They are given about 70% of the new start allowance and are not permitted to find a job. They have an 8 week period before they are forced to find their own rental accomodation. How on earth will they survive?

I can't say that I'm very knowledgable on the "boat people" issue, so I can't form a proper opinion yet, but the lack of compassion from people is just frightening.

The media has been running a scare campaign for ages against the "boat people", which has led to the general public (which in australia already has a underlying degree of racism) to fear and some even to be angry with the boat people. The politicians are sadly just reflecting the views of the majority.

I'd be interested to know what kind of conditions they are going to live in, in PNG

I understand if people don't find it funny. However, having been around football forums for ten odd years i've seen it a hundred times before.

To me it's water off a ducks back, I've done it (although usually not using our own players) & here is the point when it comes to Dave. He has done the same joke this year himself!!!!!!! It wasn't on match day, does that make it different?
