Well, since the 2007 failure we have tried just about everything to regain our rightful status in the AFL. We have replaced coaches, replaced CEOs, presidents, fitness personnel and the like.

It seems like there is one thing we haven't changed, and I for one think it's about bloody time. It could make all the difference. FFS nothing else has !!

I say we change our mascot !!!!! He's the only scapegoat we've got left.

You know it makes sense.

I want a black/white/teal version of one of the guys from this video

Pay some performing arts students to go clubbing as him the night before every game.

I'm going to watch my 2004 Grand Final DVD and then go to bed. I'll fall asleep happy.
Some things I've noticed:

1) We were so amazing to watch. Incredible skills, pace, flair, and we played like we wanted to be there and to win. Any one of those players could easily step into our current 22.
2) Peter Burgoyne should retrospectively be awarded the Norm Smith. Not saying that Byron "The Fence" Picket didn't play well, but Peter was better. Did anybody ever call him The Fence?
3) Everybody on the ground is a coach now in some capacity. Hardwick, Lade, Scott, Scott, Carr, CCornes, Brogan, Voss, and even Tredrea (with 'Tex').
4) The umpires didn't make any soft calls.
5) Our side was very young back then, and I think that was the reason we came back in the second half to win it. They ran out of legs - heck, Lynch was 36 whereas the younger Burgoyne and the younger Cornes were both 21.
6) Robert Walls should not be an 'expert analytical commentator' in any timeline.

In other news, Hitler was kind of a dick.

I'm watching the Princess Bride. I wish I was more like Inigo Montoya.
It's rare I can hear a Spanish-sounding name with out mentally substituting it in the phrase "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die."

I'm a sane, calm, even tempered person, but when I watch us play these days I want to jump the fence and punch people right up the bracket. What's wrong with me?

You're not in the 22.

I've also begun drinking a lot more this season. On the plus side I can't remember any of our Saturday games :thumbsu:

I've had them surgically removed from my brain, like Total Recall.

gopower - I think I shed a tear the day it was cancelled. What I'd give to hear Rex's address the nation: Dizzy stuff folks

My name is Fernando Alonso, you killed my father. Prepare to Die!
My name is Juan Pablo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to Die! (Colombian, but still works)

Me llamo Juan Carlos Ramírez, a tú mataste a mi padre. Prepara a morir.

my name is hernandez fernandez hernando fernando jaun pablo don juan jesus, you killed my father. prepare to die.

Quick trivia: The -ez and -es at the end of Spanish surnames means 'son of', much like -son does in English, O'- does in Irish, and Fitz- means illegitimate child of in Dutch. Hence, Hernandez = son of Hernando, etc.

It's funny how supporters of Football insist it be called Football when, in fact, Football was called Soccer before it was even called Football.
How does this even make sense? Soccer/socca comes form Association Football, which pretty much means it had to have been called football before soccer.
