Whether Abbott was a silly 30 years ago isn't really relevant to whether he's a silly now (he most certainly is, but not because of how he acted 30 years ago).

It is nice to hear the Liberals suddenly shut up about the Slater & Gordon stuff though. Can't imagine why.

I think its what they call in the law talking "establishing a pattern of behaviour"

Nah, I don't agree. A history of that sort of physical intimidation is illuminating, because it adds cohesively to the picture that many people have of Abbott, which is that he's a bit of a meathead bully, that comes out at various moments but that a lot of Australians could miss if they don't watch the news regularly.

Like when Labor's scandal with Thomson misuse of union funds came out, I vividly remember the unbridled glee on Abbotts face when he turned it immediately into a political point; it was distasteful, and completely missed the fact that a lot of people rely on unions to protect their rights.

Abbott is a small man, and anything that paints this truth more clearly is a good thing.

While I agree, especially with the bolded bit, I think if you want to paint that sort of picture you have plenty of ammunition from the countless shit things he has done while in office. Bringing up a one off incident from 30+ years ago when the person in question was young is pathetic. I know if you were to judge me from some stand out behavior from my School/Uni days you'd get the completely wrong idea of who I actually am, because I have changed, quite a bit.

This whole Abbott 'incident', to me, is just pathetic political mud raking.

And yes Finny, Abbott is a misogynist meathead bully. I couldn't agree more.

I obviously didn't read those other posts because I was posting (herp) but you get my drift

I agree, but even this beats the battle of dick bathers vs pantsuits as a topic of discourse.

That said, if it gets a few more people to vote against him (inb4 that's not how it works in Australia) then I'm glad it came out.
Guys, guys, guys. Aussies talking about politics on the net. Next thing you know, you will be exchanging ... names...

Yeah change subject I don't want this to turn political

So I got myself a job yesterday, start in two weeks, also put a bid on A block of land, will be the fourth house we,ve built in 7 years

No politics? How about Religion?

I don't believe in a God or any of that, but if/when other people find that they can move on with their lives because of their belief, thats OK in my book.

I'm usually astounded by the vehemence that people I know have against organised religion. None of them altar boys, before you ask.

A misogynist meathead bully.

and future Prime Minister, I cant understand how he is hated by more people than Gillard and Swanny. God what does Labour have to do to convince you liberal douches how incompetent they are. Reading the last page or so reminds me of watching ABC

Over 2600 posts and now we have the quady - footy, sex, politics and religion.

I'm actually more centrist and have voted Liberal in the past. If it was Turnbull vs Gillard (with Turnbull backed by moderates in his party) I'd probably go that way. But Abbott? **** off.

I think I'll take a dump in the ballot box. That or Labor.

That will be fitting Roars.

Labor have been shitting on us for 5 years.

Hate to drag out a well used old slogan, but.........If voting could change anything it'd be illegal.

Wait, where was the sex?
