I have a friend who is ridiculously good at mariokart. Does that skidding shit and gets a whole lap ahead for no reason etc.I still play Mariokart 64 on a regular basis. It's the perfect multiplayer game. Easy to learn, hard to master, perfect gameplay. They could simply up the resolution and maybe add a few tracks and drivers and re-release it now instead of the clusterf*** that has been every Mariokart game since.
Look up 'Moving The Goalposts' by Mark Courtney for the perspective of a fanatical supporter. I went to South Sydney's first game upon returning to the competition and sat with Mark. Quite an emotional evening.
Was he the bloke who was in that doco 'South Side Story', if so, yeah, he loves his club with a passion. I think I recall he was against Souths being bought out by Holmes a' Court and Crowe?
Hearing the heroics of John Sattler was inspiring, Souths are just an amazing club who fought tooth and nail for every premiership they won (reminds me of Port really).
Ah yes, that was featured in the doco also.
A real divide and built-up rivalry between most of those founding NSWRL clubs.
Another good watch finbarr:

Most supporters have a vendetta against Manly because they bought out all the best players in the league at the time, which helped them win premierships.
I was a Western Suburbs supporter, for obvious reasons (but still miss em').
I was a staunch Balmain supporter for many years. Attended the two losing Grand Finals in '88 and '89 and practically breathed rugby league back then. Grew up on the Balmain v Souths rivalry when Benny Elias and Mario Fenech, Steve Roach and Les Davidson, Kerry Hemsley and David Boyle all went head to head and toe to toe with each other. Not as brutal as the Wests v Manly rivalry of the 70's but pretty awesome nonetheless. Roach and Davidson in particular were great friends off the field even though they'd punch the living suitcase out of each other on it.

I was bitterly disappointed when we merged with Wests, even attending the meeting and voting against it. Wrote some pretty angry emails to CEO of the time Danny Munk, which to his credit, he responded to every one. My respect for Souths only grew during this time, watching them stand up to News Ltd made me a very envious Balmain supporter.
In the end I simply couldn't support the merged entity that was Wests Tigers and half heartedly hitched my wagon to South Sydney, but it just wasn't the same and I gradually just drifted away from the game.
I do still keep an eye on Souths, not only because of the soft spot I developed for them, but because of friends like Mark. As for the Wests Tigers, I still couldn't give a rats.
Not for multiplayer, which is the only reason you'd ever play either of them.
I do that too, except it's not 'ridiculously good'. It's just reading the god damn game manual and doing what it says. Seriously, everybody sucks at Mario Kart.I have a friend who is ridiculously good at mariokart. Does that skidding shit and gets a whole lap ahead for no reason etc.
Been playing Majora's mask with my girlfriend lately, much better than Ocarina of time.

Nah, I've always tried to do it and can't do it nearly as consistently as he can. Its hard man.I do that too, except it's not 'ridiculously good'. It's just reading the god damn game manual and doing what it says. Seriously, everybody sucks at Mario Kart.
Besides keeping the fridge door closed, has anything changed?Power is still out and the NT has pretty much shut down.
Just goes to show how dependant we have become on technology.
Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
