How did Norwood beat us in Round 1?!

It was played at Norwood. I swear they bury kryptonite around the perimeter.
What annoyed me so much that night was the casual expectation of the Norwood crowd around me that they'd win, and how much it then went according to their expectations. We were smashed in clearances, smashed in the way they spread unchallenged.
We were a different team the following week and have not looked so piss-weak in any game since.

They flooded the ball Fremantle style and we didn't have the big bodies to get the ball out.

That's fair, but things probably wouldn't have kicked off so much without the active provocation of Bruce McAvaney calling it "nearly the biggest night in South Australian history" in front of the nation and the Crows plagiarising our march replete with the exact same drummers.

Collingwood played like shit and the Crows were excellent, but win the flag, reinvent the wheel and cure quadriplegia they did not.
