I'm using this thread to vent my frustration at the season 4 finale of Game of Thrones.

I hate where the TV writers are going with the storylines, the things they choose to give screen time and the details they omit.

I'm looking forward to the 3rd season of Vikings more than the 5th season of Game of Thrones...

Meh. Didn't mind that change, Arya still got where she needed to. Minor change in the end.

The major screw up IMO was Jamie's non-admission about Tysha. That revelation is responsible for Tyrion's whole mindset in ADWD. Right now he's 'Jamie is a wondeful brother', not 'Jamie deserves to die along with rest'. That's a major change.

I think she'll appear season 5. Lena Headley had a heart made of stones as one of her Instagram posts. AFFC (especially) and ADWD aren't loaded with the action and gotcha moments of the first three books, so I can see why they want to carry it over to next season for a WTF?! moment from non-book viewers.

That Tysha omission probably pissed me off the most out of the entire episode. It wouldn't have introduced any new characters, just a 5 minute piece of dialogue.

I dunno, I think I'm just getting more jaded by the show and the actors trying too hard hamming it up on screen (Tyrion, Danaerys, 'Yara', Littlefinger, Varys).

Vikings is smaller scale, the battle scenes are raw and exciting and the actors don't do too much hamming.

I've just been given the first 7 books as a boxed set. It's going to take me a while to catch up, plus any books released while I'm working through them. But it's worth it, no more 'Red Weddings' for me. Walking around for a day with my jaw hanging open was not a good look.
