So united have no united juniors playing in the first team for the first time ever after offloading Welbeck. wHAT DO YOU THINK?Just saw the bare shoulders in mirror and thought it must have been part of the Fappening.
Times they are a changing. Was always going to be a reaction to the Moyes debacle and then a poor start. Will be interesting to see how hey fit all these new players in.So united have no united juniors playing in the first team for the first time ever after offloading Welbeck. wHAT DO YOU THINK?
The times changed a long time ago. The reason its relevant is because Utd fans have always tried to take the moral high ground with City and Chelski, this was their last bastion integrity.Times they are a changing. It was not about how much was spent, United always spent on players..The 'moral high ground' you speak of was always that the United money was self earnt, not funded my bored billionaires and oil tycoons. It is still the same, our owners have us in debt, so makes our spending this kind of money very interesting as far as our finances are concerned given the supporters of other clubs like to mention our debt as a type of one-ups-manship at any given opportunity. The times changed a long time ago. Since 1966.English football is in trouble it seems. The english born players are getting no game time, this is why some of the lower ranked teams are much easier to connect to. They have a soul.
The high ground was the juniors coming through, bred not bought players. Unfortunately once you start a managerial merry go round you lose the continuity required. It was not about how much was spent, United always spent on players..The 'moral high ground' you speak of was always that the United money was self earnt, not funded my bored billionaires and oil tycoons. We had the one good batch (class of 92) which was a golden age (in Fergies era). Since then it has not been the same numbers, but since then the money spent has gone through the roof. It is harder to wait for a junior to 'come good' these days. And then you get the juniors , like Janujaz, but he is not English, so the debate I guess is if they are not from Manchester, are they true juniors? Beckham wasn't obviously, but he came through the youth teams. The high ground was the juniors coming through, bred not bought players. I know it's debatable etc. but that's not what I mean. United supporters in the UK have droned on about it for years (Liverpool used to with the boot room until they got a shit manager in Roy Evans), it's like the Crows going on about 2 premierships to 1 and then Port winning the second and them losing their mantra. We had the one good batch (class of 92) which was a golden age (in Fergies era). Lets put it his way, we wont ever see the likes of the 92 class again. Timing was perfect for them to come in. Instant results now means it wont happen. The odd one looks good, James Wilson at the moment, but then we get the latest batch of players arrive and does that shut the door? True, it's crazy that the biggest club in the country can't bring through an English junior. Just shows how damaging the money has been. United, Liverpool, Arsenal et al destroyed the fabric of football in the UK in 1992.Lets put it his way, we wont ever see the likes of the 92 class again. Timing was perfect for them to come in. Is why England will never win a World Cup. Which I assume suits you just fine hahaTrue, it's crazy that the biggest club in the country can't bring through an English junior. Yup, but it also hurts Wales unfortunately. Look at what's happened at Cardiff, the door was opened and the devil entered. Is why England will never win a World Cup. Which I assume suits you just fine haha
