If it's just an atheist thing then I guess that's your prerogative, but atheism is stupid.
LOL... glass houses and all that.

Religion doesn't make people evil. Evil people are evil. Good people are good. People twist their scriptures of choice to justify the behavior they were going to engage in anyway.
Um no, most people actually twist their scriptures in order to behave like civilised human beings, not the other way around.

Absolutely, in fact this is my point.

People are not defined by their religion and nobody does anything good or bad because they are religious. The guys who are murdering doctors at abortion clinics in the US are reading the same book as the guys who devote their lives to feeding and sheltering the homeless.

If you like the endless debating and challenge of it, I guess. It seems futile to me for the most part.

Keep all of the agendas from impeding on my life and I'll be happy.
Does anyone remember those great "meaning of life, religion & aliens" debates in the local park over copious amounts of goon & weed in their teens?

lol ok. how about shoplifting?
I have no doubt it happens but it's a drop in the ocean.

If there was a real problem, the racist f***wits championing the banning of the burqa would be all over it, but it never comes up because it simply isn't an issue in reality in any way.

Except for all the people who do bad because they are religious, and we know that because they say that they did it because they're religious?

Except for when it totally is.

This stuff may have been responsible for a few alien sightings...

And yet the vast, vast majority of religious people are regular people, peacefully going about their lives doing good.

Just because assholes use religion to justify their bullshit doesn't make the religion the problem. The asshole is the problem.

ftr I am not religious at all and I was raised with no mention of religion in my house
