what a great story/ film. but incredibly sad at the same time, listening to his daughter explain how tough life was for him.
He did a lot of manual labouring jobs and is looking rather frail. He had to be assisted on and off stage by a women (could be one of his daughters). At one point he said to the audience "go easy on me, I'm 72 years old". His voice is still strong though.

RussellEbertHandball Powerstufff were you guys at Rodriguez last night.

I really enjoyed it.
Incredible for a 72 y.o., voice not perfect but has lasted better than mine and I am younger and not a singer. I liked the very slight reinterpretation of the backing guitar.
It was like a time-machine back to the 70s ( I get that feeling with Neil Young too). The goobers in the audience calling out weird stuff between songs was a bit lame. I thought it might be just me being quite tired after a long, busy day at work but Sugar Man Sixto Rodriguez rocks Adelaide, brings his tunes to town said "...“We love ya Rod,” one bloke called out about, oh, 97 times ..."
The audience intrigued me, quite a few my age but wearing bits and bobs from the 70s. Many younger people there too, more IMO than a few of the other nostalgia acts I've seen in recent years.
The lass who opened for him was very good, do you remember her name? She only said it once.

I thought it might just have been me not being hip enough as I found that really annoying too.

Quite an interesting mix. Her indoors commented that it was interesting to see all of these older women wearing there best rock chick outfit from the 70's

Gen someone. Had a good voice and played the guitar well but the only song she did that I liked was the cover of Everything is Free by Gillian Welch
