It sounds ridiculous because RAPE IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE.

Talking about Bill Cosby being a rapist is not.

That does not preclude it from being tried in civil courts if harm can be shown. The only real difference between a criminal and a civil suit (outside of the evidence requirements) is the involvement of the government and the potential loss of liberty in the punishment.

Anyway, we are arguing in circles now I do understand where you are coming from, I just disagree on the role of and rule of law in it.
I do find it interesting though, that I agree with you on most socio-political issues but here there is dissonance.

Well there you go, I guess there will always be an emotive issue for you there. I worked on abuse trials in my first career (as a family law/property solicitor) and they are no fun.

had to endure a primary school 'concert' this evening. school wasn't interested in my suggestion of my kid's classes going first and then letting me and Mrs Holder go home (with kids).
