This is one Christmas tradition that doesn't send me postal.

Hope it pisses down with rain at Carols By Candlelight later on...

Hard to compare with the south aussie climate.
I'll get back to you when I turn 60

I go through phases of interest and disinterest - mainly the veggie patch, an exceptional lime tree and the small herb garden that Im reasonably successful with.
I'm not 60

I have to do half hour gardening daily...doctors orders. I have since found that, although caterpillars love me, plants do not. They regularly commit suicide to escape me :(
The doctors garden? sly campaigner

Not in the slightest. Which instantly puts me at odds with every female I've ever cared about.

Gardening, like cooking, is one of the few things I have no interest in but wish I did.

I would agree if only to make being dragged to Bunnings/Virginia Nursery not feel like those 1980's friends-of-your-parents houseparties where you were bored shitless and ended up sleeping in a spareroom on a pile of coats.

I didn't have the spare room full of coats, but at those parties I was always locked in a room and made to watch Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Coats? In my day the only spare room had a pile of oats. A stable. I jest of course, but reading your post reminds me of Pears transparent soap for some reason

I don't know you.

But I think I will punch your vagina in the face when we meet.

I bought my 6 year old boy an ice cream (double choc, wafer cone). He promptly knocked the ice cream out of the cone, onto the middle of the ****ing road. I picked it up, gave it a decent lick for hygiene purposes, and plonked it back in the cone. He was happy enough, I was happy to not fork out another $5. Mrs Holder didn't have to know about it.
good parenting/bad parenting?

I like gardening. I deadheaded all my roses this afternoon.

Don't mind it but at present the garden's on 'survive if you can' mode. Well I water it, mow and weed but nothing clever this off-season. Not even tomatoes this year.
The reason is I'm painting, painting, painting, and doing various repairs. All the odd jobs that have built up for about ten years are being done. Some stuff beyond me* so plastering and carpenter getting some dosh.

* skills I would have worked on acquiring once, like hanging doors, I've now decided are no longer worth the time. I won't do it again. I don't (gasp!) have a circular saw and if I bought it for this would probably not need it again
