So today my doctor friend had his life threatened at knife point by an afghani muslim 'refugee'. He denied him a disability pension as his claims that he had a bad back were not supported by any evidence in blood tests, x-rays or MRIs. So the guy pulled out an 8inch knife and asked "Do you have children?", my mate picked up a chair and fended him off and they barred him in the room.
Few minutes of the dude yelling and screaming and he calmed down and put the knife down and said "I wont hurt anyone, I would have already if I wanted to." so they were going to escort him out of the building as they had no where to safely hold him. As he was leaving he asks "Can I just go back and get my knife?" of course they laughed it off and said "yeah right, on your bike." They took his number plate etc, cops came to the medical centre and took statements and the number plate etc and said "We'll nail the goose.", they went straight to his house and nailed him. My mate said he reckons he was "culturally enriched" today.
Couldn't believe how calm he was about it though, and this happened in Renmark of all places. What the hell is going on?!
Maybe your friend should have helped him...by giving him a 'disability'
Looks like the credits from Breaking Bad.Silly...it's Un Nd An
He wasn't going to press charges, then the other doctor that witnessed it was like "nah **** him, take him for all he is worth." did lol.
My sister was friends with a girl who used to date an afghani guy who lived in Renmark. He was real f**king scum apparently. So today my doctor friend had his life threatened at knife point by an afghani muslim 'refugee'. That's just a regular Weekend at the RAH. Wouldn't be to many people who work in emergency that haven't been threatened at some stage. I had a bin thrown at me once but I wasn't angry more like "seriously who throws a frecken bin??"Threatened with a knife in your workplace, I would press charges but in a country town retaliation would be a worry
Did anyone watch the Cyclone Tracy documentary "Blown Away" on ABC tonight?
As a survivor, I watched it with my mum, who is still living there, and it is amazing how the mind works. I have literally no memories of the period immediately after the cyclone, up until 2 months later when I started school in Adelaide. If asked, I would have said that we were evacuated the following day with an injured father via plane directly to Adelaide, and stayed at my grandparents house for a couple of weeks before resuming life as usual.
However, it turns out that we stayed in a single mens' quarters at a warehouse for two weeks after the storm, then mum and my brother and I were evacuated on a plane to Brisbane for a day, then to Melbourne and on to Adelaide afterwards, and dad stayed behind to assist in the cleanup for 2 months. I apparently did not start schooling again until the second term of 1975, and we actually lived in Broken Hill until we were reunited with dad. None of this is in my memory, but I remember nearly everything of my childhood in Darwin before the cyclone, and most of what happened in my life since returning to school (apart from my "stoner years")
Any other Tracy survivors on this board?
Anyone else with repressed memories about a traumatic experience?
How Zoolander predicted 2014 fashions.
