I remember the good old days when 220 was the target that teams strived for in 50 over games.
And test cricket involved night watchmen, and playing for a draw was an accepted approach. It's lucky the game survived.

Without knowing what it was, I was handed a Citizens Electoral Council newsletter on my way to work.

Had a quick read about them and wow, these people are insane ....
I do respect that they are in plain view, aluminium-foil hat, Sharknado crazy.

Pity about that Sri Lankan opener in the 1975 World Cup, whose technique left a bit to be desired against Jeff Thomson. As a result the little bloke got hit in the nuts off successive deliveries. The concerned Aussie team gathered around him, in time for the little Sri Lankan to mutter with a tear in his eye, "I go now."

Sunil Wettimuny - Retired Hurt 53 (SL's top scorer that game). He had balls. Until he had to retire hurt.

Different mind set as well. Players still played far more traditionally, got themselves in and kept the ball on the carpet as much as possible. The Sri Lankans started the trend of going hard in the first 15 overs in the late 90's, then with the advent of 20/20 the go hard, hit the ball much much more in the air and also smaller grounds in Aus/bigger bats have all contributed to the much bigger scores.
I don't remember it that way. All I can recall is watching Ray Martin for 30 minutes then Sri Lanka were 2 for 100 off 15.

oh roger. andreas seppi, really?

Dude's almost 34.

It's a miracle he's still winning tour events, let alone it being considered a huge boilover when he's bounced well into Grand Slams.

begs the question how much he has left. is hardly even training these days. crazy how he is ranked 2 in the world and hardly trains.

Over 1200 ATP singles matches. All that flying around the world and living out of a suitcase (makes the usual West Coast whinging seem as trifling as it is - 'we have to fly an extra hour or two more than Port 7-9 times a year :(').

Genetically his knees, elbows and shoulders must be different species.

Troubled internal search engine on the ABC site. I was actually on the ABC site page about a particular show but it didn't have obvious links to other episodes/series. I cut and pasted the title of the show (no spaces) into their 'Search' box and it couldn't find it.

Yes, I know, 21st century problems .....

I did a search for the ABC shop in Perth prior to Christmas. Discovered that there isn't one any more - only in a few far flung suburban shopping centres.

Nadal v Sela. The awkward moment when this guy wins the set and they have to play another.
Just to cheer you up a little, it's 10 weeks on Sunday until round 1 against Freo.
