Whats corrupt about it? Its how all first past the post systems work about 90% of the world. What has to change is the house of privelege the House of Lords has to go and that can be voted in based on proportional representation.

Anyway the democrats in Oz would regularly poll 8 to 10% of the votes in the lower house across the country and never was able to get a member elected to the House of Representative and we have had preferential voting at federal elections since about 1923. No system is perfect and to call the UK system corrupt is just silly.

My point wasn't that it was corrupt. My point was that getting 12% of the vote and only 1 seat is a similar net return to some countries where the outcome is actively rigged to produce such results. In the UK it's not corruption, simply an imperfect system and endemic elitism. But the end result is the same.

We're essentially in agreement I do believe.
