Yea they do lol worlds greatest cover band zep

Have far more respect for Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Budgie etc etc in terms of original heavy rock

Also, in regards to the 'cover band' reference...the bloke who took them to court over Whole Lotta Love also stole it from somebody else. Everybody was stealing from somebody in those days.

They stole from contemporaries as well mate, Page has had more lawsuits than hot dinners

Not arguing. As I said, everybody was stealing from somebody. It still goes on. However...whose version will be remembered by history?
Nah you didn't see stand up guys like Hendrix claiming songwriting credits for others work, you can twist it anyway you like but it remains a dog act.

If they for whatever reason decided to suddenly stop printing the Sunday Mail, I imagine the elderly starting a riot that could rival LA '92.
Yep there would be gophers covered in hand knitted crows coloured blankets leading the way, followed by walking sticks with old north adelaide and Sturt colours. Then at the back the walking frame army with red yellow blue streamers trying too keep up but being slowed down by constantly trying to keep their teeth inside their mouth.

I don't want to be thinking I don't like Zeppelin, I do like them, but that is all it is, like. Not love, not inspired by, not rating as one of the greats or pioneers. I enjoy some of their songs, I think the stairway to heaven solo is as good as everyone says it is, but the rest of the song I'm indifferent to, along with their other folky acoustic numbers, which make a relatively large number of their catalogue for a group paraded as hard rock and heavy metal royalty band.

I like Queen a bit more, but feel the same way, except replace folk with pop.

I absolutely loathe Stairway to Heaven, i don't know why, Led Zeppelin have a few decent songs but not that one.

Anyhow, can't be discussing 70s metal, without touching on the Aussie band Buffalo. That guy had a ****ing epic voice.

Unless you are a shirt raiser, they aren't in to being touched that way.

I never claimed Hendrix did, but before you be selective...maybe you should do some research about who stole what music over the years. It may surprise you who stole what. Here is but a sample:

Because Led Zeppelin are so popular they became the default example of plagiarism. If they hadn't become so popular in the US, nobody would have bothered to investigate. Also, why did Mr Dixon and co. take so long to act? The song was popular in the US for over a decade before the law suits becoming a top 10 in circa 1970, but the lawsuit was made in 1985...Willie didn't care before then

There's a difference between lifting and expanding on riffs/melodies compared to lifting lyrics, music and pretty much the same song structure and claiming sole songwriting credits though which they did.

Everyone steals little bits here and there it's how things evolve to a degree but they crossed the line on several occasions.

Have any of you guys actually sat back and thought about what a bizarre concept Mr. Squiggle was?

Are you emplying in the night garden, telletubbes and bananas in pyjamas isnt bizzarre?

I mean. Bananas. In pyjamas.

Mr. Squiggle started in 1959. LSD hadn't even hit Australian shores yet.

I see. So...there are little dog acts and big dog acts in your judgement? Anyway man, just forget it and enjoy your music. Rock on
