Brian Dennehy in a non tele-movie role probably the zenith of his mediocre career

He wa damn good in it. Loved the way he treated the drifter at the start.

Two moments of that movie I loved, when he dived off the mountain and when he cried at the end.

Mickey Rourke slams Spike Lee (1992)
Word buzzed around Cannes about pointed comments Mickey Rourke (White Sands) had made to a reporter for London’s Evening Standard in Milan earlier in the week. ”The blood of Los Angeles falls on those who instigated this revolt,” the paper quoted him as saying about the riots, ”the malicious prophets of black cinema and rap music, the movies such as those of (Spike) Lee and (John) Singleton.”

When Lee, who was promoting Malcolm X at Cannes, was told of Rourke’s comments, he told Entertainment Weekly, ”Mickey Rourke is a f—ing a– hole. He’s a f—ing redneck, motherf—ing cracker, a motorcycle-riding…you know, what kind of work does he do? I mean, he’s an idiot! He’s been riding a motorcycle without a helmet, and he’s punch-drunk from being in the ring. How can Mickey Rourke say that me and John Singleton are responsible for the riots in L.A.? Like his films are responsible? He should get a f—ing shave, take a shower….”

Mickey Rourke knocked back the role of Axel Foley before Stallone. Rourke also knocked back the Bruce Willis role of Butch in Pulp Fiction. Mickey doesn't always make good decisions. :drunk:

Looks like a monster now, plastic surgery gone too far.

LOL remind me not to check any out.. last thing i saw him in was some old tele-movie about John Wayne Gacy

He was even in the sequel to The Man from Snowy River. Continental boundaries could not stop Brian Dennehy.

He's like that crazy woman who wants to look like a cat. It started with his teeth and then he just lost his mind.

I so hoped Mickey would win the Oscar for The Wrestler. What were the odds of Mickey ever being in a film role worthy of an Oscar again? Look at his film decisions. The guy was so super cool in Angel Heart.

Is the Wrestler a good movie Or a wannabe Rocky movie?

I really liked it. It's no Rocky. I liked Rocky too, but The Wrestler is far grittier and the lead character has virtually no redeeming features.

Stallone knocked back BHC as mentioned earlier, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, among others.

Crazy.

Mickey Rourke then knocked back Expendables 2! That's madness that was.
