Only started jogging again around March. There is a walking trail near me so that is good inspiration. Managed to get to 10 km without stopping a couple of months back. Manage to average a touch over 10kph but can never seem to get any quicker. Starting to get annoyed at that fact.

Switch up your method of training, do some more high intensity stuff for a bit, eat some more carbs.

slight incline

Oh, they're the worst! Dunno what it is but they kill me. McIntyre Rd from Salisbury to Modbury can eat fat one...

If you think running is boring try doing it outside away from the treadmill. Being in the country, I usually set my sights on a steep, rocky hill, and put the headphones in with the Rocky IV soundtrack as I ascend. It helps me go faster.

Burning deep within!

Haha! I'm the same. Love a steep incline. Ran "Heartbreak Hill" in Sydney a few times when I was up there earlier this year. After everything I'd heard, I was expecting to run up a cliff face. But nah, it didn't live up to the horror stories. Nowhere near. So, yeah, I was a bit disappointed.

In the burning heart...

I got some Boak with my Oak.

I uploaded this on my phone, so apologies in advance for the size of the photo.

I decided to post this here instead of bumping the Oak thread.

I love running. Anyone who enjoys running should get involves in boundary umpiring as well, in a quick game you can rack up 15kms without feeling it and be paid for it. Running sucks balls. I do sprints once a week these days for my cardio (more faster then a jog, real sprinters would keel over laughing). They suck, but at least they suck for less time. Plus unless you do like long runs they're useless for looking fit. They teach your body to be MORE efficient burning fat (burn less). Frak at over 40 we guys are already pushing shit uphill with slowing metabolisms and dropping testosterone levels without adding better at keeping fat around.

After tonights outage of phone lines, ATMs, EFTPOS and internet I am convinced I know who would be the first to die in the advent of the apocalypse.
The young - "What's this piece of plastic, ive never seen that before" in reference to an old school Credit Card Swiper and the stubborn - "What do you mean I can't charge to my card. I always do that."

It is great to clear your headspace. Especially after a days work.

Pretty much this. I hit the gym and lift heavy things in anger, then do a bit of running afterwards.

Watching people run is my cardio workout.

Oh and edgie it doesn't matter how fast you run, you won't get away from the Rocky IV soundtrack. ;)

I run fast. I like to do everything fast. Life is to short to plod around, and exercising and staying fit is a monotonous pain anyway, so get it over and done with.

It's funny. You see someone driving fast, not hooning, but above speed limits, and don't think much of it, but if you are using your feet to move at anything other than the speed of a elderly exercise group wading in the pool, people look at your weird as if something is wrong.

Run faster for longer. When it starts to hurt, crank it up a gear. That's my rationale for keeping it interesting and challenging. People who prefer strength and weight stuff would assume cardio fans don't really feel a burn, but they'd be wrong.

Who wants to go fast (contradictory I know) when this masterpiece is blasting in my ears and in my memories

I tried using the Rocky II music, but I just ended up disco dancing.

Ha! I cop a fair bit running on these mean streets. But I had to give it to the bogan feral hoon speeding past in his hall-of-fame shitbox who, with a pitch perfect Forrest Gump impersonation, yelled:

"Run, f@ggot, run!"

I much prefer "run Luke, run" as in, from Star Wars.

Yeah, people are dicks. **** em. To quote the great Point Break (RIP Swayze) "We are here to show those guys that are inching their way on the freeways in their metal coffins that the human spirit is still alive."

I've always said that we should play Hearts on fire while our players take to the field at halftime to get them fired up. At our last home match they were playing an even more sad cover of Cindi Laupers "True Colors" at halftime and remember saying to my brother that "this music is going to depress our players" lol I wonder who decided to play that?
