Need to do something about Shorten now. I look forward to one day again voting for a party led by someone I like, not the one I least dislike.

#Malcom's little mate Godwin is already working on a plan...

Anyone ever sent a single left shoe to Daniel Day Lewis just as a joke?
Poor price to postage ratio though ;)

More sophisticated cruelty would be sending him the right-side shoe rather than the left.

edit: I do realise he does not really have a club foot

I love how bill is the ultimate placeholder till they sort their shit out. Such a nothingsman.
IMO Shaun Micallef's "Mad as hell" effectively killed Shorten off with the weekly 'zinger' extracts. The thing is that even though Shorten has shown he was aware of how lame his comments/excruciating puns are he still does them.

A strong Liberal party means a strong Labor party.
Both are good for the country.

I literally have no idea what these people do when they are not in front of a press conference ?

Like when the cameras turn off they just turn to each other and say hey , so .... What do we do until the next press conference ?

No one has ever explained what they actually do?

Govern the country?

Took some pictures of my highschool that reminds me of AAMI stadium today.

Built in 1973, on the edges of nowhere, in a swamp, a giant concrete and cinder block prison.

A grand time was had by all inside this windowless monolith.

Also it is notorious for magpies nesting in the trees every spring and ****ing everyone up who comes within coohee of them. My mum was cleaned up one day walking across the oval for a parent teacher night, needed about 20 stitches.

4 days off getting his PM pension and lifetime ex-PM perks.

The only thing that could improve on that is if he somehow contracted rabies tomorrow.

as part of the 'Coalition' the National party have agreements in place that enabled the Liberal/Nationals to form government , wouldn't be surprised with the Nationals being mostly Abbott supporters they will probably not make a deal with Turnbull straight away therefore he can't be sworn in as acting prime minister until conditions are agreed, so Tone will probably last the needed amount of days to qualify for his cushy PM pension.

Yeah, probably the change needs to be ratified by the Queen and processed by the department before the official changeover for those purposes - some bureaucratic shit.

Not gunna lie, not even the slightest disapointed that Tone has been outted.

But everything that happened tonight is what is wrong with Australian Politics.
Instead of concentrating on running the country to the best of their abilities (however limited some of them may be), they are either waited to see the best time to strike to move up the ranks or looking over their shoulders.

Elections every three years - no leadership change unless illness/death. Simples, no?

It is far more likely that they waited UNTIL he qualified for pension before ousting him as leader.

It's funny watching Libs on morning news services saying what a wonderful bloke Tony Abbott is as they wash his blood off their hands.

Turnbull and Bishop need to stop the wishy washy bull about how great old Tony was etc and stick to the white hot anger of mid yesterday. I heard Turnbull say something like Tony was bad but Labor was worse and that was why he was going to act. People need to feel he had to act or it will automatically be seen as just another egotistic power grab.
Once he'd rolled Abbott instead of a bold "Let's roll up our sleeves and fix this train wreck" press conference we had an awkward, hesitating, even conciliatory (really?) speech. I wish I could find a clip or text of Arthur Sinodinos yesterday saying why Abbott had to go; note perfect about about the lies, incompetence etc.

Turnbull is worth 186 million he'll have great touch with the common man
Malcolm being Malcolm he'll be insured in case he falls off his wallet. Abbott was always going to threaten
1st term MP's superannuation hopes. The Federal 'super' scheme only starts to kick in once you have been
re-elected and the Polls have showed of the 30 or so 1st termers many would miss out if Abbott stayed PM.
In Abbott's case the axiom, "politicians are like babys' nappies....they should be changed regularly and
for the same reasons", is true. The man was simply not up to the job. Back alley brawlers rarely survive
the limelight of critical examination. Malcolm on the other hand LOVES the limelight.
A man who would argue all day it wasn't Tuesday and then at midnight say "I told you so" is the opposite
of humble. Either way I will not miss seeing Abbott on TV I switched off years ago.

That was the problem with Abbott, he tried his hardest to portray himself as a true-blu dinky-di aussie but it couldn't be further from the truth, a pom born in London to a well off family.

But now we hear the "a new kind of leadership" catch cry for the umpteenth dozen time now and it's still as much bullshit now as it was back then.
