I mentioned in passing to my fiancé the possibility of working in Australia in one of the next major sporting events (such as the rugby league world cup in 2017 or the commonwealth games in 2018) and she got so excited about the idea I'll have to give that proper consideration. My current plans involve moving to England to study but she obviously prefers the Australian weather... especially after seeing pictures of the Gold Coast.

Yep, had a group of friends that moved from where I live (country town in the bush) to the Gold Coast and they couldn't believe how often it was rainy and overcast. I guess their opinion would be skewed by coming from a place where rain goes on holidays for entire months, but even then they said they did expect it rain more than it does here but not as much as what it did.

Just look at our last 2 games on the Gold Coast, both rainy day and night slogs.

I think it was only 2 years & it was during the whole Super League/ARL whatever it was fiasco, way too short a lifespan in an Aussie Rules state to know if it would of worked longterm. The crowds were reasonable to start off with (at least by Rugby League standards) I think but it dwindled off quick.
We've had NRL games here from time to time since I'm not sure of the public interest levels now.

Anyone else cutting weight for beach season? I'm down to 76 kegs (I'm 5'3" 1/4) without even trying I'm yet to ascertain whether this is through coinkydieting or AIDS

I've been working in Canberra for 3 months and lost 5 kilos. 80kg/183cm. No, the work did not gave me the shits.

Bit of treadmill running but more going easy on the booze pies & chips than anything.

Back in ADL as of this morning GF arrives back from Poland on friday and that normally correlates with me putting 5kg back on lol
